The Plan

I changed the title cause I thought this fit the story better. This part's kinda sad and deep but it's relevant to the story so deal with it. Enjoy

     Angelica sat in the living room. She grabbed the remote and went to a certain channel (can't mention names and such for obvious reasons). She resumed the anime she had been watching and immediately started yelling at it. "C'mon! People are really tasty! Just let 'em eat 'em!" she yelled. She usually only watched anime after Evelyn and Vanessa were asleep so she wouldn't bother them with her yelling, but this time she heard a noise from the bedroom.

Evelyn sat up in bed. She couldn't sleep. Everytime she tried she would have a nightmare. She heard Angelica yell from the living room. "C'mon! People are really tasty! Just let 'em eat 'em!" she said. Evelyn groaned. There was another reason she couldn't sleep. Angelica walked in the room soon after that.

"What're you doing here?" Evelyn asked, not meaning to sound cold but it came out that way. "Sheesh, I'm just checking on you." Angelica sat down on the bed. "I'm fine, I was just about to go to sleep." Evelyn said. "No, you're not fine. Come in the living room, you're gonna tell me what's wrong." Angelica forced Evelyn off her bed and into the living room. They both sat down. Angelica resumed her anime, leaving Evelyn just sitting there.

"How is just sitting here going to help?" Evelyn asked. "Shhh, I'm trying to watch." Angelica shoved Evelyn out of her face. "I thought we came here to talk!" Evelyn snapped. "Eh, talking's not my thing. I just wanna watch some demons beat up some humans." Angelica's eyes were fixated on the TV. "Fine, I'll go back to bed." Evelyn started to get up, but Angelica then paused the TV and patted the couch for her to sit down. Evelyn groaned and sat down. "Talk." Angelica demanded. Evelyn started to explain.

"So it all started the night we got back from Mio's house." Evelyn started. "I went to sleep like normal, but I had a nightmare. I dreamed that when Vanessa had passed out, she had died and I couldn't save her. I decided to not go back to sleep. I haven't slept in a week! Everytime I try I have another nightmare! Usually I just crawl in bed with Vanessa and I drift off to sleep, but that just makes it worse now! I'm losing my mind!" Angelica resumed the anime. "Sounds shitty." she said calmly. Evelyn was infuriated. "That's all you say?!"

Angelica paused the anime again. "I don't understand. I'm a demon, I can go my entire life without sleep. Heck, I can revive people from the dead so I've never been afraid of losing someone I love. I've revived Mio multiple times. I can necromance, and control, and all other kinds of things! If Vanessa died, I could easily save her." she said. She resumed the anime again. Evelyn grabbed the remote and turned the TV off. Angelica groaned and reached for the remote like a small child. "Do you know any way to stop the nightmares?!" Evelyn asked in an almost desperate voice. "I can tell you don't actually want me to stop them." Angelica said. "You want encouragement, and you came to the wrong place."

"You were the one that invited me out here to talk!" Evelyn yelled. "Yes, I was, cause I wanted to pry it out of you. But I'm being serious, all you actually want is encouragement." Angelica said. She somehow got the remote back from Evelyn and turned back on the anime. "Help." Evelyn said in a quiet voice. Angelica put her hand on Evelyn's shoulder. "At least you weren't murdered." she said and smacked a hand onto Evelyn's forehead. A light emitted from it and Evelyn fell asleep. Angelica magically carried Evelyn to her bed. "Guess who just had a tantrum~" she sang and threw Evelyn on her bed. "Sleep well." she said and went back to the living room.

"What do you guys want for breakfast. Birds or dead body parts?" Angelica asked. "Is it possible that we can make breakfast?" Vanessa answered Angelica's question. "Kitchen's all yours, dipsticks." Angelica walked out of the kitchen. Evelyn, Angelica, and Vanessa were in their apartment. It was morning. Surprisingly, Evelyn didn't have any nightmares the previous night. "What are we gonna cook?" Vanessa asked in disgust looking in the cabinet. Evelyn walked over. All that was in there was a bird in a cage and a knife.

"We're gonna get something from town." Vanessa said as she and Evelyn walked into the living room. "Suit yourself." Angelica replied. Evelyn and Vanessa soon came back with take-out. Angelica also had some food for herself from who knows where. "Welcome." she said. Vanessa took the food out of the bags and put it on the coffee table. "This reminds me of back at Adrienne's place." Evelyn said as she looked at her food. They ate a little bit and Vanessa cleared her throat. "I have a plan." she said. "For what? And it better not be what I think it is." Angelica asked. They heard a crunch from whatever she was eating which made them even more terrified. Vanessa sweated out of nervousness. "To invade ICEU."

"No." Angelica stated. "Why?" Evelyn asked, defending Vanessa. "You know why. Vanesssa hasn't recovered physically and you haven't recovered menatally." Angelica explained. Vanessa didn't say anything and just continued to eat, and Evelyn did the same. She eventually got the courage to say something. "It's a really good plan, I s-swear." she said. Angelica threw a bone of her food at her. "I bet it involves going after Isabella in the end, doesn't it?" she asked. "Y-Yes ma'am." Vanessa replied. "Well lemme tell you something, the queen is just a role, a diversion. It's her advisor that makes all the decisions." Angelica said. Maybe Cara then... Vanessa thought. They all continued to eat in silence, other than the crunching of bones and the occasional low curse from Angelica.

That night, Evelyn couldn't sleep. She walked into the living room. Angelica had manga in her lap. "Can't sleep again?" she asked without even seeing Evelyn. "Nope, I still can't." Evelyn replied. "I'm reading manga in Japanese, you're welcome to talk if you want to." Angelica said. She's reading manga, there's a spirit right there translating it into English for her, Evelyn thought. She sat down with Angelica on the couch. She took a pillow and hugged it. She brought her knees up to her chest. She mumbled something into the pillow and started to sob. "Do you know anything that can help."

"I think I might know something that can help." Angelica said. "What is it?" Evelyn asked. Angelica turned upside down to where her feet were on top of the couch. "Answer this question." she said. Seems simple enough, Evelyn thought. "You will understand magic a lot better too." Angelica said. "If you lost everything, your loved ones, your magic, your home, what would you have left?"

Evelyn's nightmare (no need to skip, it's nothing too bad)...

I woke up and walked to the kitchen to see my beautiful girlfriend Vanessa standing there. She was laying breakfast on the table. "Good morning." she smiled. I sat down to eat with her. "Where's Angelica?" I asked. "She's with Mio at her house, who knows what they're doing." Vanessa replied. I clutched a box in my hand. I got down on one knee and held it out. My hands trembled. Scratch that, my whole body was trembling "Vanessa, will you marry me?" I managed to get out. "I'm sorry, Evelyn, but I only see you as a friend, a best friend to be specific. Again, I'm sorry, but no." Those words echoed through my mind. No... best friend to be specific... no... I only see you as a friend.

Out of the nightmare...

Evelyn sprung up in her bed to see that Vanessa was gone. No... was my dream true?, Evelyn wondered fearfully. Then she saw that Vanessa had left a note. She read it and ran over to the door. She listened through it to make sure that Angelica was asleep. There was loud snoring, so she was. She grabbed a bag and rushed out. Angelica was asleep on the couch, curly hair cutely draped across her face. Evelyn tip-toed out of the apartment towards ICEU.
