Nausea

Without even waiting for a response, his father rose from his seat and angrily stalked out the door. As soon as he was gone, Sakura let out a breath she didn't know she was holding in.

"Ugh, I don't understand how you handle it, Naruto. I know he's the king and everything, but even I am not capable of taking all of that, let alone kissing his ass in the first place."

Unfortunately, Naruto wasn't as at ease as she was. When she looked over, the blonde was curled into a ball. Although he tried to convince himself it wasn't that bad, he was shaking. As he willed the pain to go away, he let one tear drop before falling back asleep.

The buzzing sound in Naruto's ears refused to cease as he made his way around the castle grounds. He had slept throughout the previous day and night (giving him two days left, according to his father's threat), but it didn't do much to help his pain. Every time he moved in any direction, a wave of dizziness washed over him, causing him to stumble in every direction. Not only was he dizzy, but his head hurt in areas and ways he didn't know was possible. The only plus side was that his vision had cleared to normal (the sunlight didn't bother him anymore), but that didn't really matter since his nausea caused him to bump into walls regardless.

When Naruto had woken up, Sakura had already left, but the shelves were completely restocked and spotless like they were before she had decimated them, and his bandages had been replaced. The tea she had poured had been taken away, and instead replaced with plain pastries, which he would have normally devoured the second he saw them, but feeling like vomiting wasn't exactly the most welcoming invitation to eat in his opinion. Unfortunately, that did not stop him from feeling hunger, and now Naruto couldn't figure out if the stomach grumbles and pains were from his hunger or his nausea.

After slowly rising out of bed and falling ten times, he had finally risen to his feet and made his way out of the infirmary (luckily the doctor wasn't there in the office to stop him). The bleached smell of the room clung to his gown, preventing him from smelling the fresh air. The doctor's office was on the main floor of the castle so it could be easily accessible, which was sadly on the complete opposite side of the castle to his bedroom.

He had been walking close to thirty minutes, weaving his way throughout the corridors and stairwells, while trying not to bump into anybody he knew, in case they would send him back. He would have walked outside to help him further avoid others, but there were no walls to help support him if he had fallen, and his father would have certainly been even more infuriated if he had gone back to the infirmary in need of stitches again, this time from rose thorns.

As Naruto neared the stairs leading up to the turret of his bedroom, he could feel the hallway start to warm up. He shakily reached up and ripped off his bandage, wiping the sweat that had accumulated on his face and neck, before letting it drift to the ground. He took three deep breaths, then slowly started his ascent to his room.

Naruto thought he was going to die. It had already been twenty minutes since he started climbing his stairs, and he had barely passed the halfway point. He panted heavily as he crawled up step after step. His hands ached from gripping onto the cold stone, as the wind from the openings tousled his hair, but did nothing to cool him down. He felt himself start to fall, as another wave of nausea washed over him, and his vision blurred. He tripped over the stairs in a last-ditch attempt to stop, but to no avail, as he landed-

-in a strong pair of arms.

"Ugh, you're so heavy usuratonkachi!"

Slowly, Naruto looked up into the face of his savior. The soft light from the window haloed their face, giving off an ethereal glow.
