An Unexpected Journey Indeed

I walked and sometimes skip down the sidewalk,and finally...Starbucks is now in my vision.

"Scarlet!" A voice called,I turned around to see Hailey. She was holding two Starbucks cup.

"What?" I asked. She smiled and handed me the cup.

"Well,I ordered this for you...And I was about to surprise you by delivering this frappe to your house..and you came..." She said,and sipped on her frappe. I smiled at her and nodded approvingly.

"Anyways,Thanks!" I chirped cheerfully and tugged her sleeve. We skipped through the sidewalk and finally we saw a pathway through the woods.

I smiled at the woods with appreciation. The woods is just near my house,so I visit here always.

"Up for another adventure?" I asked,grinning at Hailey. She shook her head and looked at her clothes. She was wearing a dress..Which I didn't noticed...

"I can't go adventuring with this clothes!" She barked and I snickered. Suddenly,A light bulb popped into my head. Not litterally...

"Let's go to my house! I'll let you borrow some of my clothes!" I said and she grinned widely.

"Contest?" She asked. I nodded and smiled.

"Who ever gets to my house the fastest..Will bring home 24 dollars!" I yelled and we both ran as fast as we could.

We reached our house together and ended up laughing.

"So,No one wins!" I sighed,relieved.

We went upstairs and I grabbed some black leggings and a brown sweatshirt and handed it to her. She went to the bathroom to change,I also handed her my brown vans.

While I was waiting for her,something caught my eye. It was a wood-kind-of thing that's stuck on our wall. I frowned and went closer to it. It's a lever! I wonder what this would do?

I gently pulled the lever down,and before I knew it. Dust fell into my head..Webs,spiders,small objects and Ew what's that! I quickly ruffled my hair and looked up.

A ladder was hanging down. I don't remember having a secret attic in this house..strange...

Dying with curiousity,I went up the ladder and looked down. I'm sure Hailey can wait..

When I went up..Boxes were everywhere,dust and cob webs were everywhere..there were rats wandering around. I scrunched my nose in disgust. What ever happened in here?

My eyes were wandering around when something caught my eye. It was glowing..

I grabbed it and examined it,It was a necklace..and the pendant on is a Rectangle shape and its glowing a bright blue. I put it on my neck and it glowed even brighter. There was a note on it.

Dear Scarlet,

I'am weak. I can't protect you anymore dear.. You must go to the shire and wait for Gandalf to fetch you. He will protect you..Please take this necklace..Please take good care of it.. It holds a powerful magic in which you don't know..Trust me on this..Darkness is rising..Don't let Lord Teraldon take this precious thing away. If he have this necklace,Dark will soon be powerful and Light will no longer exist. You must protect this necklace..and if you can..Please bring this to the elves.. They know how to handle this kind of magic..Scarlet,Honey..You are the choosen one..

As I read the note..I couldn't control the questions on my head,It kept coming..I feel a little faint. I took in short breaths..

Who is Gandalf?

Where is the shire?

Who's Lord Teraldon?

Elves? What the hell? Really?

I'm the choosen one?

The one that caught me off guard was the name 'Elrina'. It's my Mother's name.. No..That's Impossible..It can't be her...

As questions flowed through my head,I began gasping for air. I can't breathe..what's happening!? Stop asking!! Its suffocating me!

I was about to close my eyes when Hailey's voice called.

"Scarlet!" She called,I widened my eyes. I looked around. She can't come here! She can't know this stuff! I look around for something I will bring before we go to the woods. A sword fit for my size was laying there on the ground. I grabbed it and put it on my bag. Yes,it fits...

"I'm coming! No need to climb up here!" I yelled and put the note on my back pocket. I went down and closed the attic. Hailey was staring at me,She frowned a little.

"What's up there?" She asked,pointing at the attic. I shrugged and think of a way to change the topic.

"Wow! You look good with my clothes!" I said,hoping she won't notice.

"Oh..yeah..I love em'." She said,examining herself. Wheeeeew!

My mother...She's weak? What happened to her? I thought she's already dead..not that I want her dead..

Thoughts invaded my head again as I feel a little lightheaded. Hailey walked down the stairs and I followed her. I'm gonna get to the bottom of this....

We walked towards the forest quietly,I fixed my gray scarf and rubbed my eyes. Hailey was looking around the nature around us. It was beautiful..

Birds chirping..Fresh air invading our nose..Flowers bloom perfectly...Rivers rushing with fishes swimming. I don't really understand why people want to destroy nature just for stupid buildings.

Hailey looked at my neck worriedly. I frowned at her and she pointed her finger at my necklace.

"Its glowing.." She said,a bit frightened. I grabbed the necklace and examined its glow. It wasn't the normal glow. It was now green..

Then,suddenly..It glowed too bright that we covered our eyes from the blinding light. I see black spots through my vision and when I turn to see Hailey..She was knocked out. I tried my best to stay awake. But my head feels like hell..

I carefully closed my eyes,listening to the sounds of nature..The last calm sound that I will ever hear.
