I could feel him approaching; I could feel his pulse strumming through his veins.  I could hear his soft breath pouring out of his mouth. I could see him in my mind. His shaggy blonde hair blew in the wind and his muddy brown eyes searched for the sight of land. He was handsome no doubt about that. But he wasn’t what the legends spoke of. This I was sure of.

So I sang, letting the words flow from my lips. Connecting together in perfect harmony. The song carried out reaching his ear. Drawing him nearer to me, soon he could see me. I knew what he saw, he would see the body of a gorgeous woman with long wavy brown hair, crystal blue eyes, perfect features, my body would pull him closer.

When his boat drifted to the rocks before me my song came to an end. As did his life. He opened his mouth which was becoming short of breath his throat slowly drying up turning to dust, his skin peeled off of his body like the pages of a book, melting away into the moon light. His bones burned to ash and there was nothing more of him.

  I was replenished.
