"Take it easy, guys, gals and non-binary pals. Peace out!"
Thomas turned the camera off and sighed. That had been an emotional rollercoaster and it would be just as difficult editing it. Suddenly, Virgil popped up."Oh, hey Virge." Thomas said, smiling at the panicked Side. "What's wrong?"
"Thomas, there is a situation." Virgil said, curling and uncurling his hands.
"What is it?"
"I don't know. That's the problem. It-It'll just be easier if I summon them." Virgil said before summoning two other Sides. Roman and Janus.
"Oh, Virgil. How... nice to see you again." Janus said, smirking. Virgil hissed at him.
"What's wrong, Virge? They're fine with each other, aren't they?" Thomas asked, worried that this might be about an argument. Virgil seemed to sense what he was thinking.
"This is a lot worse than an argument, Thomas." He said, trying to contain his anxiety but failing and starting to affect Thomas.
"What-What's wrong?" Thomas asked, looking between the two scowling Sides and the one smirking one. "Princey?" He asked. Roman opened his mouth to say something but then ducked his head.
"Oh no, Roman. That won't do. Tell him what you were going to say." Janus said, smirking and flicking his hand towards Roman. Roman didn't say anything and looked to Virgil with a silent plea for help. Janus cleared his throat. "Did you hear what I said? Tell him." He said firmly.
"No." Roman muttered, his voice cracking.
"Roman, what's going on?" Thomas asked, now being affected by Virgil and Roman's anxiety.
"Yes, Roman. Tell Thomas what's going on." Janus said harshly, the smile gone from his face. Roman shook his head and went to duck out but Janus stopped him. "You're not getting out of this one, Creativity." He hissed. Then, he smirked and laughed. "Or should I say, Pride." Then, he waved his hand and Roman's outfit changed.
The white, red and gold colours were gone only to be replaced with black and silver. Any make-up Roman had originally worn changed to black and blood red and he was crowned with a crown made of thorns and broken shards of glass. The sword that had appeared in his hand was black with a silver hilt. Thomas looked from a laughing Janus to a horrified Roman in confusion.
"What-What's going on? Roman? What happened?"
Roman looked up at Thomas, disappointment and pain written across his face. "I never wanted to go back to this." He whispered, his voice cracking under the strain of holding back tears. "I never wanted to go back to being him. There's a reason I didn't trust Janus." He sighed and smiled slightly, his smile painful and twisted. "And this is it."
"Oh quit being so vague, Roman." Janus snapped. "Thomas knows who you are now. It's time to go back where you belong. Remus needs his brother back."
Roman shook his head. "No."
"No?" Janus repeated disbelievingly.
"No." Roman said, a little louder. "I'm not going back. Ever."
Janus laughed slightly. "Oh Roman. I forgot you were under the impression that it was your choice." Then, he grabbed at the air in the direction of Roman and sank down, pulling the prince with him.
"Roman?" Thomas yelled. "Roman! Come back!"
"He's not coming back, Thomas." Virgil said loudly and firmly, looking just as dismayed as Thomas. "He's gone."
"But, what? How? Who? Janus, he-"
"I know that you'll have a lot of questions. And some of them, I can't answer myself. We'll need to get Patton and Logan in on this." Virgil said, sighing and summoning the bubbly Side and the logical one.
"Heya kiddos!" Patton said. "Wait a second, we're missing a kiddo. Roman?" There was no answer. Patton tried again. "Er, Roman?" Nothing. "Virgil, where's Roman?"
"Gone."
"Gone? What do you mean 'gone'?" Logan asked. Virgil sighed.
"I mean that he's gone back."
"To the Dark Sides?"
Virgil sighed and nodded. Patton's brow furrowed in worry. "No, that can't be right. Roman said he would never go back. That he was never one of them."
Virgil laughed. "I did too, didn't I? You can't trust everything you hear, Pat."
"Virgil, can you tell us what happened?" Logan asked, getting a notepad and pen out of thin air.
"Well, um, Thomas finished the video and then I popped up. There was something odd between Janus and Roman and it was....worrying. So, I summoned them and they started...arguing, I guess you could say. Roman tried to sink out and that's when it happened."
"When what happened, kiddo?"
Virgil took a deep breath and looked directly at Thomas. "When Roman became a Dark Side again."
