y/n's pov

it's a normal thursday summer day, i was drawing doodles in my journal until my mom came in my room.
"y/n, zach's on the phone downstairs" i instantly got up and went downstairs to go to the telephone.
"hi zachy"
"hi sunshine, i'm taking you on a date today, be ready in 15?"
"awh yay! i'm so excited to see you!"
"me too, see you in 15!" i put the telephone back on it's stand to end the call.
"mom, dad, i'm going out with zach in 15, he's picking me up"
"okay hun have fun and be safe" dad said. dad really likes zach, for how polite and kind he is, so he was definitely fine with me dating him.

i went back upstairs to my room to pick an outfit. i decided to put on a pair of blue denim jeans that cuff at the bottom, my favorite colorful striped t-shirt, some white nikes and long socks. i tied my hair half up half down with an orange scrunchie, and put on some jewelry and perfume. i did some light makeup, i didn't have much so i just put on some blush and lip gloss, got my mini backpack and put some hand sanitizer, extra cologne, my wallet and lipgloss inside. i went downstairs and waited for zach to pick me up.

a few minutes later, i heard the doorbell ring, so i went downstairs and opened the door.
"zachy!" i hugged him and pecked his lips.
"hi sunshine! i got you some flowers" he said as he gave me a beautiful bouquet.
"thank you they're so pretty" i went back into the house and put them in a vase then we left. zach was wearing an adidas sweatshirt, those are in now! he was also wearing some black jeans and a pair of adidas tennis shoes.
"so where are we going?"
"that's a surprise sunshine, we are almost there"
"yay!" i sounded like a kid excited to get their candy.
"we are here!" zach opened his door then quickly ran to my door so he could open it for me.
"such a gentleman zachy" i got out of the car and he held onto my hand and lead the way to the arcade! i was jumping up and down like a crazy lady, but zach was looking at me in awe.
"you happy baby?" zach chuckled at my reaction.
"yea!" i hugged him super tight, i've been telling him on the telephone that i've been wanting to go to the arcade for the longest time, even though most teens don't really go to arcades, i felt like i wanted to be a kid again.
"what do you wanna play first?"
"pac-man please!" i couldn't stop smiling, that made zach very happy. we played a game of pac-man together and we won. i wanted to look around the arcade for other games that i wanted to play.

a few games later, i looked around again and saw a claw machine with a care bear that caught my eye.
"zachy let's go to the claw machine next"
"okay sunshine" we walked to the claw machine and i put a quarter into the machine and tried getting the purple care bear. i was so close to getting it until it fell down.
"noooo"
"oh well, lets look for other games to play"
"nonono i'm getting you that bear love" zach put another quarter into the machine and tried again. he failed. he put another quarter in. so close! but he failed again. he didn't stop putting quarters in until he got me that bear.
"zach you're wasting your quarters"
"no love i'm getting you the bear" he put another one, and another one, and another one, until he was down to his last quarter. he put his last quarter in, and did his best to put the claw in the perfect spot aligned with the bear. he pressed the button to lower down the claw, and it got the bear!
"YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YOU GOT IT ZACHY" i got so excited and zach smiled big.
"i told you i'd get that bear" he got the bear from the machine and gave it to me and i hugged it and him.
"hello mrs. care bear, you're so cute! and you too zachy" i kissed his lips and i cuddled the care bear.
"i may be cute but now i have no quarters so let's go to the diner for dinner c'mon" he held his hand out to me.
"okay" we spent about an hour and a half in the arcade, which was more than enough time for me. we walked to the diner, which was right beside the arcade.

we got a table for two and sat down, we both ordered chicken tenders, fries and milkshakes.
"today was so fun"
"i'm glad you had fun y/n" he said while digging into his chicken tenders.
"best boyfriend award goes to zachary dean herron" i giggled then sipped my milkshake. we talked about different things while eating our dinner. we finished our food quickly but we still stayed maybe a good hour or two after finishing our food, just talking and enjoying eachothers prescence.

"so i may have lied about not having any quarters left, i have one more" zach showed me his last quarter, and put it into the music player (a/n i forgot what it's called don't kill me) he played the song, everybody want's to rule the world by tears for fears. it was both mine and his favorite song, so we did what every normal person would do. stand up and dance around the diner. zach was singing to all the lyrics, he has an amazing voice, even while dancing with me. there could have been a big chance that we would get kicked out for dancing or being too loud, but we were too happy to care.
the song ended and i told him that i needed to be home by 9, so he drove me back home. we jammed to all of zach's different casette tapes since he was very musically inclined.

we had just pulled up to my house, i was kinda sad to be leaving zach after having such a fun date together.
"i had so much fun with you zachy. thank you for today"
"anything for my sunshine" he opened the car door on my side and brought me to my front doorstep.
"call me when you get home okay?"
"of course. i love you"
"i love you too" we shared a sweet kiss and he got back into his car, smiled and waved at me goodbye, as i did the same, then opened the door into my house.
"how was your date y/n?" mom asked me as i sat on the couch beside her with a smile on my face.
"oh it was amazing! he brought me to the arcade and won me a care bear, then we went to the diner and danced and i had so much fun with him"
"it seems like you really love him hun"
"i do mom"
"well i'm so happy for you" she hugged me as i hugged back and my smile just got bigger.
"i love you mom, i'm gonna go up and shower and then sleep, it's already 9:30!" (a/n: THEY SLEEP EARLY OKAY SIDNSJSN) i went upstairs to my room, took a nice hot shower and got into my comfy pj's and got into bed with my stuffed toys, and of course, the new care bear zach won me. zach called me to tell me he got home safe, i told him i was too sleepy to talk and he understood, so i went into bed and drifted off to dreamland.
