Ben || Kian

"Hello--"

"Not you again."

[gasp] "Mystery man! What a pleasure."

"Ugh. Isn't there anyone else I can speak to."

"You are speaking to the best of the best."

"Has anyone said that besides you."

"Lots of people actually."

"Sure."

"So. How can I help you?"

"I did some research about your...organization."

"Uh huh. And?"

"It...it seems like it's...good."

"Is it always this difficult for you to be nice?"

"Shut up."

"The Trevor Project is seriously incredible. They have all of these resources, ...it's crazy. We've helped thousands of people."

"...Yeah, I saw."

"When someone is contemplating suicide, having just one person reach out to them can make a huge difference. That's what we want to do. We want to be that one person who could change your outlook."

"How noble."

"Thank you. So, in order for me to extraordinarily change your life, I might need a name."

"Fine. My name is Kian."

[Gasp] "We've achieved an important friendship milestone! I'm so excited."

"If your idea is to annoy me into not being attracted to men anymore...it might work."

"No! If anything, you'll have to try really hard to not fall in love with me. I know it will be really difficult...because of how witty and charming I am."

"...It won't be a problem, Bennett."

"Yeah, that's what they all said. Men and women want me."

"Ugh, you are so full of yourself."

"Well, I wasn't always this suave and delectable. Might come as a shock, but when I first realized I was attracted to boys I really....embarrassed myself. A lot. God, it's so cringey."

"Well now I want to know. I told you my story, why don't you tell me yours?"

"Yes! Oh my god, this is another milestone! Sharing personal stories. Buckle up, because have I got a story for you--"

"Make it short. No dramatic details. I'm not going to sit here for hours listening to you ramble on."

"Booo. You know, I went to high school with a Kian. He was way nicer than you. You're doing your namesake dirty by being mean all the time."

"Oh yeah?"

"Wouldn't it be crazy if you were the same Kian?"

"Well, you said he was nice so we can instantly rule that out. Also, I think I would remember your irritating ass."

"Eh, I never talked to him. I was always way too shy."

[laugh] "I can't imagine you being shy. You're too friendly."

"Aww--"

"it's nauseating."

"Hmph. Now that I think about it...he also played basketball..."

"What was that? I can't hear you."

"Just....out of curiosity, where did you go to high school?"

"It's a tiny town in Virginia, you've probably never heard of it. Ugh, just thinking about it gives me PTSD."

"..."

"...Bennett?"

"Would you look at the time! I just remembered that I have a workshop! To go to. Like right now. It's about...effective communication."

"Wait, what about the--"

"I'll tell you stories next time. Bye!"
