"Hey, Mandy?" Pony tapped on her shoulder. It has been four years since the infection, and everything was back to normal. "Hm?" Mandy hummed, looking at videos on her phone. Pony smiled. "Happy birthday. It's almost time for breakfast. I suggest you get out of your room." And Pony walked out.
Mandy sighed and rolled her wheelchair over to her dresser, where she changed into a grey T-shirt and some blue jeans topped off with a pink hoodie. She put her phone in her pocket and took the ramp down to the first floor of their shared house.
Since the infection, a lot changed. George reunited with his family and went on to live with them again. Y/N retired as an officer and opened a bakery instead. Zizzy and Pony started dating and shared a house together with Mandy. Everything was back to normal as it should. When Mandy pulled herself onto a chair at the table, she sat down and looked around, spotting a box. What was in that box? Well, it was Robby. The box has been sitting there for almost three years. It had dust on it and was hidden away by a few boxes filled with stuff they haven't put in the house yet.
Zizzy brought some pancakes to the table and sat down herself. "Alrighty, folks! Dig in!" And they ate the pancakes.
Mandy had to admit, her feelings about the robot never changed. Many months spent with the robot felt like heaven. She counted herself lucky since she had a friend when she was infected. She still thought of him as that one "dramatic but funny robot that was pretty dorky."
Mandy sighed. "Mandy?" Zizzy put the dishes in the dishwasher. "George and Y/N are coming for your birthday today. Someone special might even show up." Zizzy winked and nudged Mandy. Mandy rolled her eyes playfully. "Well, whoever this special person is, I doubt they would." Mandy nudged Zizzy back. "Whatever you say~!" Zizzy sang as she went back to turn the dishwasher on.
Mandy scrolled through photos on her phone. She found a lot of memories she probably wouldn't be able to relive. She found one with her mother, picture taken five years ago. She found one with her fish.
She kept scrolling until she heard the doorbell. She opened it and it revealed a mechanic. "Hi, I'm just here to fix something. May I be let in?" Mandy, a bit suspicious, quietly let him in and headed back to her room. "Stupid.." Mandy quietly mumbled to herself.
Eventually, the mechanic left, and George and Y/N came over. They came with small boxes and put them on the dinner table.
"Hey guys? How bout we play some games? I'm bored." George suggested. "Might as well. What games do y'all got?" Zizzy rushed over to the video game cabinet and pulled out a small case. "Mario?" Pony asked. "Mhm."
They hooked up the game and started playing. "HAHAH! I WIN!" Y/N cheered. Mandy unhooked the game after. "Mkay, what do we do now?" George called from the back of the living room. "Truth or dare?" Y/N answered. "Hell no! I don't wanna be some teenager stereotype! You know how they are." Zizzy argued. Mandy sighed. "I'm kinda hungry. When's lunch?"
"We can order McDonalds!" Pony suggested. "ALRIGHT YOU SWINES GET IN THE FRIKIN CAR!" Zizzy shouted as she grabbed their arms and chucked them into the passenger seats. She sat in the driver's. "LETS GOOO!!"
(Time skip Ü)
It was now evening. Pony and Zizzy were setting up dinner while George, Y/N, and Mandy were at the table. Pony came with small bowls of ramen and placed them in front of each person. "Let's eat now, shall we?"
More time flew by, and they all finished their food. Now it was time for some cake and gifts. "Happy birthday to you," they sang. Mandy blew out the candle and everyone cheered. "Cake or gifts first?" George and Y/N asked in unison. "Hmm...how bout cake?" They all nodded with agreement.
The cake was a normal strawberry cake frosted with cool whip and topped with sprinkles and strawberries. In Mandy's opinion, it tasted great. She enjoyed it a lot. She ended up having two small slices.
"Presents~!" Zizzy sang as she pulled a few boxes from under the table. "First one is from George and his family." Mandy was handed a quite large box. She shrugged off the size and gently ripped the wrapping paper off the box. Mandy widened her eyes. It was a pair of prosthetic legs. "Okay, I heavily appreciate this. Thanks, George!"
"This one's from Y/N." Pony handed a box to Mandy, who tore the paper off to reveal chocolate chip cookies. "Nice! Thank you, Y/N." Y/N gave her a thumbs up. "No prob."
"Last one's from Pony and Zizzy! You're gonna like this one." Zizzy put on a huge grin and pulled Mandy out of the dining room and into her room. "What are we doing in your room, Ziz?" Zizzy ignored the question. "Stay here and close your eyes, I'll tell you when to open!" She shouted excitedly as Zizzy ran off. She covered her eyes with her hands and waited. She heard slight mumbling.
Mandy then heard the sound of metal footsteps. "Alright! Mandy! Open!" Mandy slipped her hands off her eyes and her jaw dropped.
"Long time no see...?" A familiar voice spoke shyly. "ROBBY!" Mandy tackle-hugged him to the ground. "I missed you so god dang much, you idiot!" Mandy tightened her grip. "I thought you were gone after you got dismantled.." Robby hugged back. "I mean..I'm here now, aye?" They both laughed.
"Hey, Robby?" Mandy called for him while on her phone. "Yes?" He responded with the same smile Mandy always adored. "Four years without a friend like you felt like hell, you know?"
Robby let out a light hearted giggle.
"Yeah. It's been hell without you too."
