12 months later.

Zach stood at the entrance of his new home. It looked nothing like their old one, probably for his mother sake. Sometimes she found it hard to even look at him because he reminded her so much of her late husband. This didn't stop her from being a good mother though, she knew that her child was hurting just as much as her, maybe even worse, she had to stay strong for him.

Carrying boxes to and from the car they had finally managed to unpack the whole downstairs, the upstairs however still remained in boxes but at least one part of the house felt like home.

Sitting on the floor applying the vasline on to his burns, Zach hissed in pain even to this day some of his burns were still very sensitive. Seeing him struggle getting to the back of his shoulders, his mother Maria took the vasline pot out of his hands and started rubbing it on the necessary areas. It was an unspoken thing, Zach thought that she felt guilty that he now had somewhat permanent scars running down his left arm and across the back of his shoulders. But he never blamed her, he'd rather scars than being an orphan.

"How about we order a Chinese? Celebrate moving in to the new house?" Maria asked, getting up from the couch capping the vasline bottle. Zach hummed in response eyes glued to the TV trying to find something to watch. "The usual?" Maria called from the kitchen phone in hand, "Yes please!" Zach shouted back.

Entering his bedroom Zach took in the small room, a large window was on one side looking out into the back garden that was surrounded by a beautiful forest. A small double bed layed just before the window squished in to the wall, next to the bed was a little bedside table. Adjacent to the bed was a medium sized wardrobe with chester draws built into it and next to that a desk to do his homework on. The room itself was a light grey colour and felt oddly roomly. Apon further inspection the wardrobe turned out to have a built in full body mirror on one of the doors, Zach smiled at this thinking that at least he could check if his outfits actually matched in the morning and started putting his clothes away.

After successfully putting all his clothes away he decided to throw on some sweatpants and head downstairs neglecting a top, hearing the doorbell ring signifying that the Chinese was here.

The Villin family sat ideally on the couch, both not really watching what was on the TV but instead deep in thought. The silence between them was a comfortable one. At around 12AM Maria decided that it was about time both of them headed off to bed especially because Zach had school the next day. "Come on Zach time for bed." She told her son only to look over and see that he had fallen asleep. Smiling down at him, she ran a hand through his brown locks before bending down to kiss his forehead making him stirr. "Come on sweetheart time for bed." He rubbed his eyes tiredly before giving a small nod and clumsily making his way upstairs to the bathroom before going to his own room.

The next morning came quicker than what Zach had hoped, the late night and moving all those boxes had tired him out not, just physically but mentally as well. It was hard moving on without his dad by his side giving him that fatherly advice that most of the time doesn't make sense but does at the same time. A small smile made its way on to the boys face as he reminisced over the memories of him and his father. A short shower later and vasline applied Zach stepped out of the bathroom and made his way to his bedroom.

Putting on some black skinny jeans, a black long sleeved top with a black oversized jumper that had blue flames going along the edge, paired with a pair of white JD sport trainers. The whole outfit made Zach's blue eyes pop the dark colour also making his pale skin stand out a bit more than what he wanted. Doing a once over in the mirror Zach ruffled his slightly damp hair before heading downstairs for some breakfast.

Maria was already up and about dressed in her doctor scrubs placing a bowl of cereal and some orange juice on the kitchen island for Zach. As he entered he muttered a quiet thank you before tucking in, his mum just leaned against the kitchen counter sipping on her coffee. "I'll be back in time for tea, have a good day at school, I'm sorry that I can't drop you off on your first day of junior year." She smiled sympathetically at him, "It's okay Mam anyway it would seem uncool if you dropped me off." He replied giving her a lop sided grin, she laughed at his antics shaking her head before walking around the island to kiss the top of his head before heading out the front door to work.

Putting his dishes in the sink and hearing his mum drive off Zach checked the time and decided that it would be best if he started packing his bag for school. Shoving all the necessities into the small blue backpack he had some spare time and decided to go on his phone. After scrolling through Instagram he checked the time again only to realise that he was going to miss the bus. "Damn you instagram!!" He thought whilst running out the house, backpack in tow.

The ride to school was a short one, the bus being mainly filled with freshman. The bus came to a halt showing off the schools bland exterior, the only pop of colour it having was the red double doors that lead inside. Zach let out a breathe before walking across the car park towards the main doors, receiving a couple of glances. He was almost back on the pavement when a car suddenly came speeding into the car park and parked right in front of where Zach was, the car barely missing him by a couple of inches. This caused Zach to jump a foot in the air making him land on his arse.

Breathing hard Zach tried to gain his composure. Whilst doing this a car door opened and slammed shut, "Oh my god I am so sorry!! I didn't even see you there!! Are you okay? Are you hurt?!" Exclaimed a very panicky male voice, "Yeah no I'm fine just love being nearly ran over." Zach replied sarcasm dripping off every word, he looked up at the person standing above him, a worried look had over taken the strangers handsome features. The stranger pushed his blonde hair away from his forehead and his honey brown eyes made eye contact with Zach's blue ones. Mystery guy held out his hand for Zach to take, "I really am sorry dude." Zach nodded before taking the strangers hand letting him pull him up.

"It's okay I guess." Zach replied shrugging whilst wiping off bits of dust and dirt that had gotten on his clothing from the fall. "I'm Charlie by the way." Said handsome boy, with a better look at him now Zach realised that the boy was quite a few inches taller than him, probably standing at 6'0 where Zach was only 5'8. Charlie has that innocent boy aoura around him that made you instantly like him, he was very bubbly and lively. It also helped that his jawline was probably sharp enough to cut diamonds and his gorgeous tanned skin only added to his handsomeness. All in all, he could definitely make any women drop to her knees. "I'm Zach."

"Well Zach how about I become your new best friend?" Asked Charlie, really no room for argument as Zach smirked in response "To compensate for nearly killing me?" This made Charlie laugh out loud wrapping an arm around Zach's shoulder tugging him towards the entrance of the school.
