The final bell rang signalling the end of school. Zach, Charlie, Orson, Connor, Jake, Lily and Alice all made their way to their respected cars. Zach sharing with Charlie as the gang made their way to his house.

Whilst in the car Charlie and Zach talked about their day and Charlie asked Zach mindless questions about how he was liking the town so far and the people in it. "So why'd you move here?" Charlie suddenly asked when a comfortable silence fell on the car, the question made a lump form in Zach's throat, he hated these kind of questions, he didn't want to see the sympathy on Charlie's face when he told him about the accident.

Sympathy. It had become something that Zach had come to despise, all those times when he told people they just walked around him like as if he was cracked glass that could shatter at any moment if pushed too hard. It made him sick, no matter how many "I'm sorry"s and "It's not your fault" he heard it wasn't going to bring his dad back. Instead the words just brought back what he had lost and what he could never get back. It was tortue. So he opted for not telling people and preferred being treated like an actual human being rather than a china doll.

"Cause of mum's job." Zach said, the lie rolling off his tongue effortlessly. Charlie nodded in understanding before pulling up to a huge mansion. From what Zach could see it had at least six floors, the whole house had a modern but vintage look about it. It's grey walls and glass doors giving it the modern vibe but its rustic decking and vintage balconies gave it worn in homely look that it needed.

The whole house was in the middle of the woods, the dirt path that they had taken to get here nearly completely hidden by anyone who didn't know it was there originally. All in all the whole area was beautiful.

When entering the house it burst to life, kids running around everywhere and adults talking. It looked like as if a party or family gathering was happening. "Hey Chaz is a family gathering going on or something?" Zach questioned, "Sort of. Their always here." Charlie replied brushing the topic off like as if this was completely normal. Two little kids about 7 or 8 came running up to Charlie hugging his legs, "CHARLIE CHARLIE GUESS WHAT GUESS WHAT!!" The little girl shouted only to be hushed by her brother, Charlie chuckled at their antics. "What?" He replied "I got an A- on the homework that you helped me with!!" She cheered giggling at the end.

"HEYYYY!!! I told you that I'm not as stupid as you think!!" Charlie said tickling her sending her into a fit of giggles. "Their always like this." Came a quiet reply, Zach looked down to realise the little boy had said it. Zach gave him a sympathetic look and patted his shoulder reassuringly, "Too loud huh?" He said, the little boy's eyes lit up as he quickly nodded in agreement. They shared a silent exchange as a woman came up and shooed them both away and pulled Charlie into a hug.

"How was school hun?" Veronica, Charlie's mum asked. He sighed removing himself from his mothers death grip before replying, "It was great mom. I made a new friend," as he motioned over to Zach, "his names Zach." "It's a pleasure to meet you miss." Zach greeted politely causing Veronica to smile widely, "Oh please just call me Veronica! It's lovely to meet you Zach." An awkward silence fell on them causing Zach to look to Charlie for help, sensing the atmosphere Veronica said "Right I better let you boys go, I'll call you guys up for dinner ok?" Both boys nodded before Charlie dragged Zach off towards the basement, that he called 'The Den'.

Once down there, Zach realised that they were the last to arrive for some reason. He hadn't seen them pass when talking to Veronica earlier. Getting a better look at the room, it reminded Zach of a cinema. It was dimly lit and had a comfy looking couch in the centre facing a flat screen TV and behind it a pool table with a mini fridge. On the couch currently was Jake, Alice, Orson, Lily and now Charlie. Zach took the opportunity to sit in the corner to leave room for Connor and tried to take part in the conversation about hoodies?

"Wait are you guys seriously arguing over who has better hoodies?" Zach asked completely confuzzled. "YES!" Lily shouted, "I'm saying that girl hoodies are way trendier and in general look nicer." She concluded but Orson butted in saying, "Yeah but guy hoodies are comfy and you girls always steal them and never give them back. So what's that saying?" Lily didn't have a reply to this and before they could argue anymore Alice said, "How about we pick a movie to watch?" They all nodded and decided on 'The Conjuring' this was a plus for Zach as he loved scary films Lily however wasn't a fan.

Just as they were about to start the movie Connor came in placing a bowl of popcorn on the little table in front of them. Completely ignoring Zach, he went to grab a coke from the mini fridge. "Took you long enough." Grunted Orson. Connor only hummed in response and was about to sit down when he noticed that Zach was in his seat, "Move." "W-what?" Zach stuttered out surprised by the tone of voice. "You're in my seat. Move." Connor said more firmly this time, Zach not liking his attitude decided to stay put, "No I got here first, you sit somewhere else."

"Zach I won't ask again." Just hearing his name coming from Connors lips made him feel all tingly inside and weak to his knees. He could just imagine hearing Connor moan his nam- he shook his head from those thoughts and stared back at him.

The others watched the little confrontation in amusement, barely anyone ever stood up to Connor, never mind a little human at that. But what they didn't expect was for Connor to scoop Zach up and place him next to him as he sat down. Effectively putting him nearly on top of Charlie, "HEY!" Shouted Zach, "That's not fair!" "Oh yeah? And what you gonna do about it?" Smirked Connor getting comfy in his seat, before Zach could fully process his next move he got up and sat down on Connors lap. Shock laced Connors face as Zach got comfy in his lap leaning his back against Connors front, Charlie was the first one to laugh "He got you there bro." Which only earned him a smack to the head. The others just shook their head in amusement and played the film.

Mid way through the film Zach started to relax fully into Connor, even going as far as resting his head on Connors shoulder. Connor in return wrapped his arms around Zach's slim form essentially cuddling him into him. He had never felt more comfortable, even though he knew deep down that he shouldn't be doing this. He shouldn't be strengthening the mate bond but seeing Zach all curled up on his lap, he couldn't help it.

Once the film had ended Zach made no intention of moving, he was way to comfortable and honestly didn't care what Connor was thinking about him basically cuddling him. Zach always was a sucker for physical affection, when Connor finally got the memo that Zach wasn't moving anytime soon he sighed in annoyance not at Zach but more himself. The second movie that they chose was 'Me Before You' which Alice had said was her favourite, Jake complained about it being too sad and that he didn't want the girls to bawl their eyes out which made them all laugh cause they knew that he would be the one crying instead. Sometime through the movie Zach had fallen asleep on Connor and the group took full advantage of this by taking cute photos of Zach's sleeping face, mainly to blackmail him later with. Connor tried his best to save his mates dignity but in reality to Connor, Zach's sleeping face was adorable and he wanted a photo too.

Soon Veronica called them all up for dinner, all of them except Connor and Zach raced upstairs. "Baby come on you need to wake up now," Connor murmured into Zach's ear whilst running a hand down the back of his head to his neck and sitting up. Zach only wrapped his arms around Connors neck and buried his head further into the crook of his neck, shaking his head in response. Connor sighed in content at having his mate so close, before rubbing his hands up and down Zach's sides. "Come on aren't you hungry? Dinners waiting for you." At the mention of food Zach immediately bolted for the stairs only to stop at them and run back to grab Connors hand, dragging him up the stairs with him.
