Chapter 8: Gabbie's P.O.V
I stepped off the train with my suitcase in one hand and my sister's hand in my other into the crowded station. I was told to find a petite lady with a frail frame. I was to call her aunt liz.
I scanned the station and finally spotted a lady who matched the description. Her hair was dripping wet and her shoes were soaked.
I squeezed my way through the throng of commuters towards her. "Hello," I smiled as amicably as i could. "Are you Aunt Liz?"
"Oh!" She cried out in shock, snapping out of her daze. And then her face broke into a smile once she regained her composure. "Hello to you, dearie, Gabrielle right?" She then turned to my eight year old little sister. "And you must be her lovely little sister, Madeline." The corners of her eyes crinkled up in delight.
Maddie smiled shyly and hid behind me. I smiled.
"Nice to meet you, Aunt Liz. Thank you for being willing to take us in."
She smiled back and caressed my hair lovingly. "Now now, we'd better be heading back for you to take a rest, i'm sure the train ride had tired you out."
Aunt Liz reached for my suitcase, and heaved it up. Her small body hunched and wobbled under the weight of my suitcase. I rushed forward and took it out of her hands.
"I'm fine, really, i can carry this."
With that, we stepped out of the station into the pouring rain.
