"She's beautiful," Mr. Viridis whispered as the new parents admired their newborn who had not yet opened her eyes. Slowly the baby opened her eyes to see her mother. With a start, Mrs. Viridis noticed the baby's brilliant green eyes.
"She has green eyes!" Mrs. Viridis hissed. "They'll find her and take her!"
"We won't give them the chance! Come on and wrap her up so nobody will see her eyes. Sing her to sleep too," said Mr. Viridis. Mrs. Viridis gently sang a beautiful melody and the baby fell asleep.
"She's asleep! Let's go!" said Mrs. Viridis as they scurried to leave. They signed out of the hospital and left hurriedly.

The Viridis' named their baby Lily and kept her for six years until one day a knock came at the door. Mrs. Viridis was cooking dinner and young Lily was setting the table, so Mr. Viridis got up to answer the door.
"I'll get it honey!" he said as he walked up to the door.
"Thanks, dear," Mrs. Viridis said back. Mr. Viridis opened the door but just stared in shock when he saw who it was. A man in a suit and tie stood at the door.
"Hello, I am Neville Furvus from the Juvenile Inspection Center, or the JIA, and we understand that you home the child Lily Viridis," said Neville with a nasally voice. Mr. Viridis doesn't say anything, trying to delay what was about to happen.
"If you are not going to let me in then I'm coming in myself," he said as he pushed Mr. Viridis aside.
"Who was at the door swee--" Mrs. Viridis started but stopped when she saw Neville. A tear rolled down her cheek. Small Lily wonders out of the dining room.
"Who's are you?" she said confused.
"Don't worry little one. Just come with me," he said while he tried to grab Lily's hand.
"No!" she screamed. "Get away from me!" Men in protective suits marched in and grabbed Lily. The last thing Mrs. Viridis saw of her daughter, was a bright glint in her beautiful, green eyes.
