I sit on the forest floor in the dark panting like a dog. My long black hair hangs in my face and I pull it back. I hear gruff voices all around me calling my name. There's no way I'm going back there, I think to myself.
“Lily!” yells a nasally voice. “This is the fifth time you've tried to escape! Just come with us! We don't want to hurt you, but we'll do what we have to!” yells the voice. I roll into a ditch and cover myself with leaves to hide.
“You deserve to be in... a facility. You committed a terrible crime!” screams the voice. There are tears in my eyes as I try to bite back my tongue so I won’t give myself away. My anger gets the best of me.
“Like you have done anything better! You all are just—“ A hand clamps my mouth. They snuck up behind me! Now I have to go BACK.
“See Lily, if you had just cooperated, then we could have settled things less violently,” says a man that I know to be Neville Furvus. Every time that I see him he looks so familiar.
A very sweaty man is covering my mouth. His hands taste like sweat and blood. Gross.
“Mmmphrrm!” I try to say.
Neville looks at the man and says, “Let her speak, Buford.”
“Of course Sir,” replies Buford. He lets go of my mouth and grabs a rope out of his pocket to tie my hands up.
“Yuck, Blah!” I spit out, “Have you ever washed your hands in your entire life?! You know, with like soap and water. Seriously, you wonder why you can’t get a girlfriend!” I retort just to aggravate Buford.
“Girl, you better hush before I—“
“Who gave you permission to talk Buford?” asks Neville harshly.
Buford replies plainly, “Nobody.”
“That’s what I thought,” Neville says. I smirk at Buford. He can’t do anything to me. But, why? I’m apparently a violent girl that tried to murder someone and was put into jail. But that can’t be me. I don’t remember doing anything, and I never have for as long as I’ve been there. I can’t even remember when I was put in there!
“Lily!” shouts Neville. I snap back into reality.
“What do you want?! You’ve already ruined my life!” I say annoyed.
“Lily, listen to me. You need to stop running away or we’ll have no choice!” Neville warns me.
“No choice for what? You already do torturous tests on us!” I say suddenly worried.
Neville’s cheeks rise in a sinister smile as he says, “Then we’ll have to start doing tests all day and all night.”
I am truly terrified, but I try to hide it. I want to burst into tears, but instead I hold my hands up to be taken away. I bet my green eyes are sparkling with fear. They always do that when I’m scared.
“Excellent!” beams Neville. Man, I hate that guy. I think as Buford throws me over his shoulder with ease.
It is now so dark that I can barely see. He takes me to a large metal truck with 16 wheels and throws me in the back. As soon as Buford shuts the doors, I immediately start pounding on the metal and scream pretty much just to bother Neville and Buford.
I stop and sink to the floor when my voice goes hoarse. What’s the point? I’ll never escape. I am quiet for a while but then I start to hear muffled voices. I run up to the front of the truck and put my ear up to the metal.
