I'll Always Protect You

“Jinjin! Don’t walk away from me! PLEASE! Don’t go!” MJ sobbed as Jinjin ignored his crying pleas and turned his back to him.

MJ tossed and turned as Jinjin slowly disappeared into the darkness in front of him. Not even taking one last look at him.

As he raised his head up he could see a flash of light and suddenly MJ was surrounded by fire. Slowly it inched towards him. With no where to escape to he tried to jump over the lowest part of the flames.

Instead of landing on his feet he continued to fall endlessly through the darkness. Even then he continued to call out for Jinjin. Call out for help. But nothing came.

Suddenly, he could see the ground in front of him. He closed his eyes tightly for impact.

Shaking. He could feel someone gently shaking him.

Quickly he opened his eyes and sat up. His clothes were drenched with sweat and his breathing staggered.

Standing next to his bed was Jinjin with a glass of water. Without hesitation he hugged the younger around the waist and pulled him closer as he began to weep.

Jinjin put the water down on the bedside table, sat down next to MJ and gently moved his hand up and down the older’s back.

“It’s ok. I’m right here. I’m not going anywhere.”

“But Jinjin! You left me! You left me and then everything began to fall apart and I thought I was about to die! And… and you never came no matter how much I called out to you! And you-“

Jinjin put his finger to MJ’s lips. “It was just a nightmare. But in real life, I’m here and I’ll never leave you. I’ll always be there when your in danger.”

MJ hugged him tighter, “You promise?”

“Of course. I love you and I’ll always protect you, forever.

MJ’s sniffling died down. Jinjin joined MJ under the covers and lay down. “Now come on. It’s two in the morning! Let’s get some sleep.”

MJ lay down next to him and cuddled up closely to him. “As long as I get to cuddle you in my sleep.”

Jinjin laughed and nodded his head as MJ embraced him comfortably. Within minutes they both fell asleep and just as Jinjin promised- MJ dreamt of Jinjin saving heroically.
