Chapter I: Handkerchief

"sayang sila. They look perfect for each other pa naman, pero they're not meant to be e." nanghihinayang kong sabi habang naglalakad sa park.

Dito sa park, andaming hindi para sa isa't isa.

a lot of them magkaholding hands pero their strings are connected on other people.

everytime na may madadaanan akong couple and their strings are connected, a smile will suddenly form into my lips. Then, lalapit ako sakanila and I'll congrats them. They can call me crazy, basta happy ako because they're at the right person.

But, it also hurts when I saw people breaking up. Like one time, I'm walking papunta sa school when suddenly two people caught my attention.

The man was breaking up with the girl. Then, nagbebeg yung girl na magstay, but in the end, the man still left her.

I just went to her and offered her my handkerchief. She took it then she hugged me so tight. I felt her pain, but I have classes pa.

So I said sorry kase I can't stay any longer and I let her keep my handkerchief. She needs it more.

I wonder if she is feeling better na? Well, I hope so.

Yes, I can see kung kanino naka tadhana ang isang tao. I don't know why or how, basta I woke up one day seeing red strings tied to people and the other end were connected to the person they're meant to be with.

I can see that meron ding nakaconnect sakin but I don't know who was connected on the other end. I haven't saw him yet and it looks like ang layo niya sakin.

"no, I just saw your face" I said.

"why? Am I that handsome?" pagmamayabang niya.

"ew, shut up ka nalang, ok?"

He ruffled my hair at nagyaya nalang kumain.

He is Zane Yohan Delika. Siya ang kapitbahay ko na parang kuya ko na din. He also studies at Jing University and a honor student, too.

My parents are away from me. They are both OFWs, so naiwan ako kay Lola ever since I was 3 years old. My parents only visits every 5 years.

Sa ngayon, 2 beses ko palang sila nakakasama.

I'm lucky to have Zane as my neighbour though. My everyday life becomes more exciting. If only he was my real brother. Life would be so happy, pero wala e, I'm an only child.

"Hey liit!" sigaw ni Zane.

"what? ano nangyari?"

"wala, apakalutang mo lang lately. You don't know na nakain ko na spanish bread mo and you're still lutang there" he said.

"Sorry na, because of that... You have to buy me spanish bread later, ok?" I said while pouting.

"ok fine. Let's go na nga" he said while we're laughing.

Yes, I told him about dun sa red string because I know I can trust on him and he believes in me.

One day he asked about his partner. I didn't actually told him kase sure ako liligawan niya agad.

I just told him na I can't see his string, maybe because I told him.

By the way, his partner was studying at an all girls school na malapit samin. Don't tell him that!

She's quite pretty and famous. I hope she has a good heart, too.
