Walking towards the large mahogany double doors
Eyes glimmering, unable to contain my grin
I took a deep breath
To contain my racing heart.
My eyes widened in awe at the room
Lined with thousands of books.
There, a ladder leading to higher walls
Tempting me to climb, just for the fun of it.
I walked further in, trailing my fingers
Along the spines of books
The smell of old paper and dust wafted in,
Surely keeping the timeless stories here.
A crackling fireplace with a warm glow
Keeping out the cold, surrounding me with its heat
I sat curled up on a nearby couch
Grabbing my favorite book and cookies.
