During my childhood days I grew up in a neighborhood where everyone knew everyone. It was a friendly area and people were very helpful and kind. The world appeared very safe and trustworthy, moreover there was a familiarity wherever we went. There was no scare or caution while playing outdoors with a bunch of friends. There was no group formation among kids and every kid was welcome to join and play the games.

Me and my neighboring friends would invent all kinds of imaginary games. Every place in the house was turned into a play Zone area and in those days we had a pretty good space unlike today.

There was not much logic, order or strict rules in any of our game as long as it was fun and entertaining...

There were many games which still linger in my mind when I think about my childhood days, here I am describing a few of those games.

To start with I remember this game called "pinching the nose" where there would be 2 teams of equal players sitting on opposite sides facing each other. A person from team 1 will go and close the eyes of one of the players of team 2. One person from team 1 will pinch his nose and comes back and sits in his place. The person whose nose was pinched has to find out the one from team 2. It was very fun because it was clearly through guessing and observation that we have to find.

Most of the time we would distract the finder by adjusting our sitting position and giggling and by giving many false clues.

"Land, fire, sea, water,Bridge" is the name of the game where we use the steps as the play area. We will stand on the fifth step and one person among us will stand on the ground and will call the command as to water, fire or sea and accordingly we should move a step forward or backwards, if we don't listen and take the wrong step then we are out of the game .

This game enhanced our listening skill together with fun and there was one particular command called playground for which we would run on the ground and the player will try to catch us.
