ITS BEEN A FEW WEEKS since kenzies incident. shes been casually hearing negative-minded voices in her head, but always shut them out. her and johnny have snuck off at night to the tree house every now and then, making sure no glass was awaiting them for when they walked back in. no one knows why kenzie had her panic attack, but they all know better than to ask her.

brandon was barely ever home. he would walk in everyday, but would leave only after an hour or so. he didnt speak, no one talked to him. no eye contact was shared, unless it was a dark, sharp, quick stare at kenzie, and still no one knows kenzie and brandon had a past.

it was nearly midnight and it was christmas eve, the night before christmas. john and laurens, parents and sister couldnt come home from all the snow in toronto. although, they found it quite odd since there was very little snow currently in toronto. so instead, it was just a group of teens sprawled on the living room floor.

they all sat with blankets around them, a few pizza boxes spaced out, with popcorn, chocolate and gummies on the coffee table. 'annabelle' was playing on the tv but no one was watching, they were all talking, excited to spend a christmas together.

-"well, im going to bed, you girls coming?" nadia stood up, dusting the crumbs off her hoodie. kenzie flew her hand up for nadia to pull, "help me up!"

-"lauren, annie? coming?" nadia asked as she dragged kenzie. "yup." annie grabbed onto kenzies arm, to also be pulled up.

-"lauren?" kenzie timidly urged. lauren rolled her eyes and placed her eyes on the tv. "cmon lauren, please!" annie practically begged her.

-"no thanks. i have my own room." she bitterly answered, throwing a popcorn into her mouth. "no, actually you dont. we're taking your room, it has cool lights." nadia shrugged.

lauren looked at the strawberry blonde haired girl, "you cant just take my room." she emphasised 'my'. "well we just did, so." nadia smiled flatly and pulled the other two girls with her.

-"um, lauren," hayden scratched the back of his neck, "you can sleep with me," he paused, "if you want!"

-"dumbass you sleep in my room." johnny quickly interrupted. "oh i know," hayden answered, "i guess you could be a kind brother and bro, and let lauren sleep comfortable."

-"why cant you sleep together in the guest bedroom? there is literally a free guest bedroom!" johnny reasoned.

-"lauren, just please. one night, come hang with us!" annie tried pleading once again, with the other two girls nodding. "no." she answered bluntly.

-"why? you always used to hang with annie and i, why cant you hang with us again? did you suddenly become too mature for girl nights?" nadia started getting quite upset and a little mad.

-"i think you very well know why i dont hang with you guys anymore. shes here." lauren looked kenzie up and down.

-"oh come on lauren! seriously? your 18! just come hang with us! shes not even a bad person! shes literally so sweet and so kind! why cant you just give her a chance!" annie moved closer to lauren, a bit shocked at her. kenzie bit her lip and looked down. she didnt want to cry. she didnt want to let lauren bother her. but it was too late. her vision was invaded with tears, she refused to blink and let them fall down her cheek.
