The reason their green is because Mother Terra is an Earth dragon meaning you are the only Earth dragon slayer in existence. Now like I said in first chapter "Not even the plants could calm you down" I said that because your emotions are in sync with the earth and every thing in it. For intense if you were hurt in battle, the earth around you would wrap around your wound and heal you. And you can also eat the plants to gain more power just like Natsu and Gajeel.
