Build or Burn (Natsu x Reader)

Chapter 2- The Reunion

(Reader's P.O.V)
Sapphire and I had got off our last train. We were super tired, hungry, and needed a place to stay. But my hunger subsided when I heard a huge explosion.

"(Y-Y/N) what was that." Sapphire asked with terror in her sapphire eyes as she hid behind my (H/L), (H/C).

"I don't know Phire but were gonna find out."

"Ehh!!" she yelled when I grabbed her little paw and began to run.

The explosions were getting worse and there were strange beams of light going out in every direction from the ground to these strange floating orbs. Once the beams hit them the exploded leaving a trail of beautiful gold dust. It was an amazing sight but then lightning bolts started to fall to the ground and I heard simultaneous shrieks of pain.

I stopped thinking maybe I should help whoever they hit but an great surge of power beckoned me forward.
"(Y/N) please slow down!" Sapphire begged with a hint of nausea in her voice.

"Sorry Sapphire, but you just gonna have to deal with it!" I said as I quickened my pace. Then I reach a building that looked somewhat like a castle and was witnessing a fight that people like me would be honored to call the battle of the year.

There stood a man with blond hair and black tattoos going head-to-head with a guy with pink hair laying in the ground who didn't really seem to be winning.

Wait a second a guy with pink hair!?
"It can't be..." I mumbled to myself but the boy stood up and his body was surrounded in flames!

"It is him!" I exclaimed with tears in my eyes as I looked at the fierce face of my childhood friend, Natsu Dragneel.

"Who is he?" Sapphire asked

I was about to answer her but he fell back to the ground and couldn't move. The man with blond hair stood over him with an enormous ball of lightning and Natsu didn't look like he was planning to get up any time soon.
But before the it could even reach him time seemed to slow down as I thought of my strategy.

'Ok my number on priority is Natsu' I thought. Then I looked around at my surroundings and saw a ledge inside the building. After that I looked down at my frightened exceed. 'But I need to make sure Sapphire's safe too.

Then as time sped back up I dropped Sapphire, ran towards Natsu, and pulled him up to the ledge. Making sure Natsu was secure in my arm, shielded my eyes from the blinding light. When the light died back down I turned and saw a black scar in the spot that he was last in.

The blond man yelled "So who's the strongest person in our guild, Natsu? Natsu didn't say anything so the man laughed "Guess you can't answer if you've been turned to dust!"

"Wasn't he one of your comrades?" A voice said.

I turned and saw a guy with black hair and piercings all over his face standing in the doorway. He was kind of cute but he seemed like the bad boy type, and trust me that is not exactly my cup of tea.
(A/N: What do you guys think about him?)

"Only someone with a screw loose would take out a comrade with joy."

"G-gajeel." I heard Natsu mumble

"He hasn't been exterminated, though." Gajeel pointed at me and the blond guy looked up smugly. " Good thing too, since that's my job."

I jumped down and stood behind Gajeel with with Natsu still in my arms. Then I laid him on the ground and mended his wounds with a herb potion I made and never leave home without.

"(Y-Y/N) is that you?" Natsu asked when he finally got a good look at me.

"Yeah Natsu, it's me." I replied when he reached up caress my face.

Gajeel growled "I hate to break up the party you two but if you hadn't noticed we still have a battle to win." Natsu nodded in understanding before telling me to find someplace safe to hide.

"Ok... but be careful. I just found you and I don't want to lose you again." I said as I held back tears in my eyes.

He ruffled my hair "As if that would happen. Natsu Dragneel never loses a fight." I smiled as I ran back to my confused exceed and scooped her up into my arms.

'Still your old cocky self, huh Natsu' I thought to myself as I ran deep into the forest until it was all over.

(Still Reader's P.O.V)
After the man I later found out was named Laxus was defeated and sadly kicked out of the guild for his wrong doings, everyone returned to the town guild, Fairy Tail,to get ready for the Fantasia, which was partly the reason I was in town anyway.

..... Everyone except two very pissed off Dragon Slayers sitting on a bench heavily covered from head to toe with bandages. They looked like mummies but that is what bond to happen your fighting another Dragon Slayer and almost get turned to dust.... I walked over to them trying to hold my laughter in.

"Hey guys." They looked up at me. Their eyes and noses where literally the only thing that wasn't covered with bandages "Feeling any better?"

Gajeel growled but Natsu gave me what looked like a smile through his bandages and reached his arm out towards me. I took his hand and he pulled me onto the bench in between them.

It was hard to make out what he was saying but it sounded like "How'd you find me... after all these years?"

"We'll let's just say after you left, I grew up and came looking for you."

Natsu started to tear up so I pulled him into a hug. I tried to calm him down.
"Ssh, ssh I'm here now."

I know Natsu blamed himself for us being separated. He promised that he'd come back but he stopped looking for our dragons about 6 years ago.
I let go of Natsu when a girl with white hair came up to me.

"Hello my names Mirajane Strauss but you can call me Mira. We just wanted to thank you for saving Natsu out there. Do you think you might wanna join our guild?"

I looked around and noticed all eyes were on me. I blushed. It was kinda embarrassing, my clothes had been scorched from the explosion Laxus made eariler. But Mirajane notice that I was uncomfortable and held out some amazing hot clothes.

They was a green tank top with a silky sliver, pink, blue, and green shirt; and along with it a matching skirt with silver tights and green sparkling heels. I swear the whole outfit lit up the whole room. I accepted them with a huge smile. "Thank you!"

"No problem-. Ummm... oh, silly me what's your name?"

I looked at Natsu then back at Mira.
"My name is (F/N)(L/N), but you can call me (N/N). And I would be more than happy to join your guild."I said smiling my signature smile.

The whole guild cheered after Mira gave me a green Fairy Tail guild mark and Sapphire a white one on her back. Then we all went to start the parade.

(Natsu's P.O.V)
She seemed so different. The once scared little girl was gone and in her place stood a beautiful grown woman. Not to mention a strong dragon slayer like me. As we rode down the street or walked behind the floats people cheered but then master gave us the signal.

(Y/N) nudged my arm "Natsu, now?"
I smiled and stood in the Fairytail stance. "Yeah get ready."

She nodded and copied the pose that everyone else was standing in. Then master raised his hand in the Fairy Tail "I'm here" sign that Laxus created years ago. I looked over at (Y/N) and I swear her eyes were twinkling just like stars as we raised up our hands and we began to shout

"Fairy Taiill!!" Then the rest if the guild joined in,
"Ruless!!" And just like that I had the best Fantasia in all my years at Fairy Tail. And it was all because (Y/N) was right there with me.
