what are the chances?

Sanha's heart beat fast in his chest as they neared their dorm. After their MC schedule, it was a quick wrap up and he and Bin were at the back of the car as their manager drove them home.

"Ya! Sanha!"

"Eh?" Sanha's head snapped to the side, looking at an irritated Bin. He shrunk in fear (as much as he said MJ was the scariest hyung, Bin still took second place).

"You've been tapping your feet for the past fifteen minutes, it's annoying. I'm trying to nap."

Sanha looked down at his feet, and was surprised that Bin was right. He immediately stopped. "Sorry, hyung."

Bin tsked, before asking. "What's got you so nervous anyway?"

"Me? I-I'm not!" Sanha sunk in his seat, looking at anywhere but his Bin Hyung.

Bin didn't sound convinced. "Suuuuure. And I can fly."

Sanha was saved from replying when the car pulled to a stop and their manager announced they were home. Taking this as his chance, he took his things and high-tailed it out of the car.

As soon as he opened the door, he ran past the other hyungs in the living room, ignoring the confused look Jin Jin gave him before locking himself in his shared room. Luckily for him, no one was inside. Sighing, he threw his bag on the floor before faceplanting on his bed. Heart calming down at the quiet and empty room, he let himself relax.

Sanha wasn't sure when did staying in the dorm became nerve-wracking. It wasn't that he didn't like sharing a home with his hyungs – he probably can't imagine life without them if he were to be honest – but there's just instances that if he were to be left alone with a certain hyung, then that's when his heart races and he couldn't quiet act normal.

It's already 2020 and yet, Sanha has yet to overcome this unrequited love.

He wasn't sure when it first started, not sure when platonic turned to romantic, admiration turned to adoration. Maybe it was slow. Maybe it was fast. Maybe it snuck up on him or maybe he knew it all along yet still lived with the denial until years later, he finally owed it to himself to be truthful.

The smiling gaze, the dry sense of humour, the way they just get each other without really saying anything – it made Sanha's calming heart, beat fast again.

Remembering the last year, it certainly became worse for him – not to say he wasn't enjoying it.

Blue Flame was an era where, as an adult, he tried many new things. It was also an era that the person of his affections had grown closer.

Sanha and his hyungs were close. There was no denying that. But if you were to ask him if he spent time with them individually, there was always one person that he has not really spent time with. It wasn't as if it was deliberate. It wasn't as if they disliked each other. It just so happens that every time they hung out, one member was always there as a buffer. They talk, sure. Sharing a room helped too, but out of all his hyungs, he spends more time with the eldest two than anything. So even as the two maknaes, who should be spending more time together than the rest, it just didn't happen.

Blue Flame though was another story.

Maybe it was the fact that they were down to one and it just so happens that Rocky's twin was not with them, it almost felt natural to be closer than they were. Sanha had to keep his surprise at Rocky's presence beside him – though not to say his heart wasn't happy, in fact it was jumping for joy. The entire era only reiterated that, yes, Sanha's feelings were there and true and that it wouldn't go away.

Fast forward to their latest digital single, Sanha was still in the same predicament, though he was getting tired of trying to hide his feelings. And as close as they became, Rocky had stepped back a little and Sanha was left wondering if all those times were nothing but a dream.
