Chapter 9 - Truth

Hyukjae's PoV

I walk downstairs as I heard Donghae and the lady laughs.

I followed their voice and I silently opened the door.

"Come in Hyukjae." Donghae said as they both look at me.

"I will excuse myself now. I will need to check the kids to see if they are okay." the lady excuse herself.

I was left alone in the room with Donghae.

"You want to know about earlier right?" he ask.

"Can you also read minds?" I ask as he nod his head.

He motion me to sit beside him.

"Will you hate us if I tell you the truth?" he ask.

"I will hate you if you lie to me Donghae." I said. I don't know but this past week I am starting to feel myself getting attach to him.

"What you witness earlier is something I can't explain but I can tell you that we are not humans. We are vampires living in this world for more than hundreds of years" he said as I gasp at the information.

"Vampires? I thought they only exist in stories" I said.

"That's what we intended to do. For people to only believe we exist in such stories, but ever since I and that other guy became the Elder of our family everything changed" he said.

"people are starting to know more about our existence, that's why I have to make deals with leaders of every country. Not just to protect our kind but your kind as well." he added.

"Then why did those two ladies attack us earlier? How come you can walk in daylight? How come you can eat human food?" I ask.. So many questions are running inside my head right now.

Donghae's PoV

I know we will go down with these questions.

"firstly, I don't know why the Jungs attack us that is why I had no choice but to kill them, We can walk even on daytime due to this." I said as I show him my ring.

"This is a daylight ring which have a rare stone called Lapis Lazuli. It helps us resist the sun and lastly not all vampires can take human food. I was one ofnthoae who can eat but can't be satisfied with it." I said as he atill looks lost.

"How do you feed? I am with you mostly and I've never seen you drink from a human." he ask.

"Well, we get blood from a blood bank. In our family, we never drink directly from humans as I don't want to hurt your kind." I said as he look at me.

"Is that why you always drink that red stuff, I thought that was just a rare wine." he said as I ruffle his hair.

"but you haven't drink today. Do you have any left of those in your car?" he ask as I shake my head.

"I can manage till tomorrow." I lied. I am feeling a bit weak since this morning due to all this ruckus.

"Would you like to drink from me?" he ask as I widen my eyes.

"No! I won't!" I said angrily. How come he can offer himself to me that easily.

He flinch at my sudden outburst.

"I'm sorry, I just want you to eat. You might get weak." he said.

I lift his chin cause he isnhanging hia head low.

"I don't want to hurt you. You are special to me." I said as he starts to cry.

"Look at me Hyukjae, you are tired. You need to rest." I added as I put him to sleep.

"How lovely, You know you can turn him to one of us."

"I don't plan on doing that Namtan" I said as she walk infront of me.

"Soon Donghae, you will have nonchoice but to do it." she said as I look at her.

"What do you mean? Have you seen his future?" I ask

"I don't have that kind of power Donghae, I just know cause you did it with me and Singto remember."she said.

I look at his sleeping face. 'Do I really need to?'

Singto's PoV

It was a long day for us,Krist fell asleep after asking me what really happened earlier. I had no choice but to lie to him.

I am not sure if I should tell him all of this right now. He might hate me.

I went to the balcony as I feel the night breeze.

"Supressing what you are feeling won't help him you know."

"Since when did you arrive here Tay." I ask as he sat himself at the railings of the balcony.

"I am here ever since Donghae arrive with the human. I need to clean some pest earlier" he said.

" I listened to your conversation with that human and I feel he is too innocent for all of this." he added.

I sighed. "That's the reason why I don't want him to find out yet. He is too innocent." I look back at the sleeping figure inside.

"I actually don't know what I am feeling, Donghae said something about love. What is love? How would I know I have that?" I said.

"Are you serious about that Singto? Have you ever love someone before?" he ask.

"I...I honestly don't know. I may.. It's been what? Over 500 years since I live as a vampire. Maybe when I was a human but I can't remember." I said.

"How should I explain this to you." he sighed as he scratch his head.

"Love is when you want someone all for yourself" I look above us and saw Heechul sitting there.

"That is what I notice about that. Humans do intend to be overprotective with someone because of this love." he said.

'Am I being overprotective of him?' I thought as I look at Heechul who went down as well and sat beside Tay.

" It is also said when you love someone, you want to see them everyday, you feel different when they are around and their presence give you a different aura." Tay said.

"I think what I am feeling right now is this feeling." I said

"This is love... but he is a human and I am a vampire. Sooner or later, he will leave this world. I may need to just let this go away." I said knowing the last time I get attached to a human.

"Why not turn him to one of us then?" Heechul said.

"That way you will be with him for the rest of eternity" Tay added.

"I will need to think about that. You may leave us, I think I will rest for now." I said as Tay throw a bag of blood to me.

"Just incase you need to feed" he said as they both disappear.

I place the bag of blood on the table and sat beside Krist thinking of what they told me.
