Heh. It's been awhile, ey? Sorry for the long drought! I got real burnt out by my own writing schedule and I needed a heck of a break. But I'm back with many many plans!

Also, sorry I didn't get to reply to any comments on Criminal Coincidence pt. 1 & 2. I was so burnt out that I didn't even have the energy to reply to comments (pathetic, I know.) But I do want to say thank you to those who have been commenting on my work! It really means a lot to know that people read and enjoy the fruits of this little hobby of mine. Many kisses to you!

Stay safe! And enjoy the adventure!

It had been four years since Wheein started going there at the close of her junior year in high school. Each time she came, she carried a bag of honey snacks and a sweet stalk of jasmines.

Those moments were always bittersweet. Filled with long-held regrets and a rush of snapshots - memories that seemed to hold no significance but could always bring a soft smile to her face.

"Halmonie..." her voice was carried away like scattering dandelions by the summer breeze.

She came to a stop before the cool, grey engraving. Bending down, she ignored the uncomfortable stretch of her jeans as she placed the flowers by the headstone.

As if her grandmother was there to see her, she plopped down as clumsily as she could manage and chuckled. Her grandmother would've fussed at her for being so unladylike for goodness sake!

Taking a quick glance around the cemetery, Wheein relaxed when she saw that there was not another soul in sight. So there she sat, under the balmy midsummer breeze in her favorite pair of jeans and a bag of honey snacks.

"I finally managed to take a bite, halmonie." She let a fond smile flit over her face. "I thought I'd come eat them with you."

As she rested her back against the side of the headstone and crossed her legs, Wheein closed her eyes. She savoured the quiet. The peace. The sun was about to set and it cast a warm orange glow upon the little hill.

Hyejin always said she found cemeteries dank and dreary - but Wheein thought they were the perfect place to find a little bit of peace away from the hustle and bustle of life.

And as she sat there under the setting sun, munching on a sweet chip, she breathed in. The smell of jasmines and cut grass tickled her nose. She felt every muscle in her body relax. The chip grew soft in her mouth and the bits of crystalline honey melted onto her tongue. She breathed out.

It had been four years since her halmonie died.

In spite of the terrible unfairness of it, Wheein found solace here in her memory. She was the one who had spat unkind words and left her grandmother to suffer them, even so, she was allowed this little spot of rest.

"Thank you, granny." She breathed.

She could almost feel her smile upon her.

Wheein smiled back but kept her lids closed lest she thought her grandmother was actually here and opened her eyes - only to disappoint herself.
