[ TWENTY THREE ]
Before they knew it, the training camp was over and it was yet another week of school. The team's characters stayed the same, probably becoming stronger after the camp, but there was something that obviously changed.
"Oi, Minari. What happened? I know you're not the talkative type but you seem a lot more quiet than you were before," Kuroo said, as the trio once again walked inside the gates of the school.
Minari flinched slightly, knowing that she wouldn't be able to hide changes in behaviour when it came to Kuroo and Kenma. Of course. She basically grew up with them and there was no escape from the eyes of those two.
"It's nothing. I just feel tired, that's all," Minari lied, but Kenma's eyes met with hers.
He stared deep into her eyes, silently telling her that he knew she was lying. So Minari sighed, took out her phone and gestured to Kenma.
"What the hell is that again? You two have an empathic link or something? Just don't expect me to believe that, Minari," Kuroo said, folding his arms across his chest as the three of them halted in front of a vending machine.
"Can we not talk about it, Kuroo? I'm not in the mood to talk," Minari muttered, looking away.
The third year sighed, knowing that he wouldn't be able to squeeze information out from the girl. She will tell him once she's ready, that's what he thought.
However, on the other side of the school were Yaku and Lev.
The skyscraper of a first year was as energetic as usual but for some reason, Yaku seemed to see through him and realized that he was faking enthusiasm.
"Did something happen between you and Minari?" Yaku bluntly asked, trying not to go around in circles.
Lev flinched, hearing the name he didn't wish to hear at the moment. It wasn't like he hated her. It just pained him to think that he wouldn't be able to be with her just like before. It wouldn't even be like when they weren't dating yet.
"Don't tell the others, though, Yaku," Lev started, making the older one nod. "We broke up."
Yaku halted on his steps, his brows furrowing as he stared up at the taller boy. He didn't care if he heard Lev muttering something along the lines of you look much shorter up close, Yaku, he was surprised about the sudden breakup.
"Why?" was all the libero could ask.
However, Lev didn't answer him and just decided to run towards his class and skip a few minutes of receiving practice with the third year libero.
"Goddamn it, that kid!"
Classes were finished and both Lev and Minari were out of it. They were both in a trance, not knowing what to do right during the day. Some have pointed it out to the half-Russian, but only Dana who was in the same class as Minari was the one who told the girl.
