As evening arrived, I put on the dress, curling up my loose strands, I applied moisturizer massaging on my face and hands. I'm not much of fan of makeup. Only liner and lipstick are my essentials. So applying my go to mascara, blue liner which pop out my eyes, nude brown lipstick, I was looking presentable for a fancy restaurant.

Nick was going to drive me to restaurant so as I came down, I saw him standing at the door talking on the phone. When I was standing next him, I watched him sighed after putting phone in his pants and started rubbing his hands over his head frustratingly. Poor guy. " I can take cab, you can go and take rest", I told him honestly and his eyes snapped towards me. Watching me he replied, " How can I let you go alone when you've finally decided to wash up and put a nice dress on." and I laughed .
As we walked towards the car he said, "Did I tell you how pretty you're looking. Shaking my head I pouted at him.

Pinching my cheeks he said, " Sapphire, you're looking gorgeous today."
Moving his hands from my cheeks, he took out my glasses, " Much Better ", he said smiling at me and handed me my glasses.
"Thank you.",I replied with red cheeks and put them in my purse .

He opened the card door for me, going inside I softly mumbled 'thank you' to him. I was not used to all this chivalry.
Once he inside he put on some old classics. As he started driving, there was comfortable silence in car, both of us mumbling songs and in our arrays of thoughts.

"You were acting such jerk when you came to pick me up last time.", I said playfully, looking outside of the car.

"Yeah. I know. I'm sorry for that."

"It's allright. My suggestion was genuine if you remember it." I know he'll never go. He loves this thrill to much.
He laughed.
I turned towards him and asked,
"Who were you talking to on the phone ? If you don't mind me asking "

His fingers tightened on the wheel and his eyes focused sharply on the road,
"Why?" His voice turned cold.
Are all of them are bipolar.
Duhh.

"You were looking very frustrated after your call."

Seeing white of his knuckles, and tight line around his lips, I decided to drop the topic and changed the music to release tension in the car and my favourite The Proclaimers's song started and that's when I started singing along loudly with excitement. Soon after Nick also joined and we were singing on top of our lungs,

But I would walk 500 miles
And I would walk 500 more
Just to be the man who walks a thousand miles
To fall down at your door

Then he dramatically looked at me and sang,

When I'm working, yes I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who's working hard for you
And when the money, comes in for the work I do
I'll pass almost every penny on to you

He literally threw a dollar at me laughing like maniac. Tbh any sane person would call both of us a maniac right now.

When I come home
well I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who comes back home to you

At this point he gave me a flank kiss to which I decided to catch and then next second I threw it out of window and clap my hands like I had threw some garbage out. He faked cried at it and sang along the next lines.

And if I grow-old well I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who's growing old with you

But I would walk 500 miles
And I would walk 500 more
Just to be the man who walks a thousand miles
To fall down at your door
