AN: I'm really pissed because the server deleted my first version of this chapter. Oh well. Fuck it. I don't give a fuck. NOPE. NO FUCKS.

"Be happy," said Cynthia emphatically as she sat down at the water's edge, staring at the reflective surface, orange deep inside the water, and green even deeper.
He was moping, Cynthia observed, and in this situation moping was a terrible thing to do. She'd much rather have it that he was in a pleasant countenance in his last few days than upset.
He looked up at her, and tried to smile. It was a sad smile.
"Do you want me to be happy?"
He paused.
"Yes. More than anything..." He replied.
She grinned warmly at him.
"Then let's try to get this off our minds, and have fun like we would anyway."
He nodded, perceivably composing himself. He took in a deep breath, looked at the sky whistfully for a moment, and then turned his face to her, grinning evilly.
Already sensing what was about to happen, she backed away and said with laughter in her words,
"don't you dare..."
His smile twitched up on the left corner.
"Doesn't matter what you say."
She screamed, giggling, and tried to run, but her efforts were proven futile.
He caught up quickly and, lifting her up by the waist and hoisting her up over his shoulder, trudged into the lake with a euphoric expression on his face, all the while ignoring the screeches and hits of Cyn.
He threw her in the water and, in the process, ended up falling in himself. Cyn surfaced and gasped, the water was cold...
He came up smiling and laughing. His chest hurt, but a good hurt.
Cynthia splashed him with the water, crossing her arms.
"That was mean."
He laughed. "I'm sorry."
She dramatically fixated on the falling red sun with a pout on her face, and he just sat in the water, amused.
"How dare you..." She said, looking back to him.
"You said for us to have fun."
"This wasn't fun!"
"Right."
He smirked.
She smiled a little, but only a little.
"Ok, fine, maybe it was a little bit fun."
"Good."
He hugged her from behind, startling her.
There was a strange melodic clanking noise coming from deep inside his chest and she closed her eyes to hear it a little better. He rested his head on her shoulder...
And she realized it was his heart.
She smiled, and his heart began to beat faster, his temperature coming up a little.
Then she broke away and sat in the water so everything from her midsection down was covered in water.
"What are you doing?" He asked. It seemed like an automated response to confusion.
She shrugged and moved her arms through the water, manipulating it so it rippled through her fingers.
He tilted his head to the side, and then sat down with her.
He was incredibly confused by her, and he loved every second of it.
Cyn said, "in a little while, let's go home."
He nodded, repeating, "in a little while."
-----------
Cyn was shivering on the way home, and running, yelling, "hurry up!"
He walked without hindrance, since he didn't get too cold. As a matter of fact, being colder helped him stay at a lower battery usage rate. So he was benefitting. But he did speed himself up, because Cyn wanted him to.
When they finally got to the house, Cyn was miserable. She told him to occupy himself as she got in a shower.
He sat on the carpet, metal drying.
And he was very sad.
