OUR TIMES

Chapter 3

2 February 2023

Yesterday I arrived back to New York, after the winter break. My university life will start again on 3 February. I've also got to find some part time job though. The scholarship will run out soon.

When I arrived at New York, Violet,Beni,Bayu, and Nina was already at the airport arrival waiting for me. I am lucky to have all of them... 

Violet is the first ones that come to me and hug me the second I stepped my foot back on New York. We hugged so long... I guess we both missed each other so much. One month with only a little contact after our actions back in New Year Eve's here made us really missed each other. I just hoped Violet still loved me the way I still loved her.

But Me and Violet haven't been official about our relationship, after New Year's Violet and Nina went back to Boston taking their winter break with their family. Well for me and the boys, we came back home around early January, the ticket is still expensive but Beni and Bayu being a good friend they are, help me with the ticket cost. Thanks to you Bayu and Beni, I can meet my family again after months away. Thank you man. 

Coming back to Indonesia, one thing still the same. The weather. THE HOT WEATHER. It's rain season in Indonesia but it's not raining a lot. GLOBAL WARNING really is effecting our climate.

I miss my family, my parents, my brother and sisters. All this time I went abroad our communication were only via phone and whatsapp. Anyways my homesick were cured when I step foot again on my house.

My brother and sister were taller this time. Erga now is a highschool student. What surprised most is, Erga almost reach my height. His height was above my shoulder when I came home, he even challenge me that he will surpass me next time I went back. How dare you challenge me Erga??? Yeah...You will win next time bro.. 

Erna and Erni now is an eight grader, and they still looks the same. Well they are twins...            but what I mean something is never change. They still use the same bag like the old days. Eventhough their difference was also more appear now. For instance before I went NC, I know that they both play guitar and soccer. Yeah they play soccer. Now when I came home after months, Erna is the one who continues to play soccer and Erni continue learn guitar.

I don't know if they know have a stronger physcic connection. Hey who knows?? 

That twin bonds...... still a mystery in our world

My parents was also trying to make a small family business now. My mother tried a knit and stitch clothes business. Her daily costumers was from our neighbors, around the neighborhood usually. She offer her business door to door to the neighbors and her knitting business was not a stable business. Some day she will get a lot of order from the neighbors saying they want to add a length to their jeans, or shrunk down the waist size, or add some motif on their clothes, and etc. But some day the order was nowhere to be found. So the income from it was unstable eventhough it is helpful enough for my brother and sisters school payment. 

And if you asked me how my father is... Dad was still the same doing his job on daily basis. He has been doing his job for almost twenty years now. He works as a security guard for our neighborhood church, sometimes he help cover up at a mediocre real estate located in east Bekasi. Dad's payment was a major ones for our family, it was the back of our family even until now. But lately I've started to worry because my dad was not young anymore, he is 55 this year. I'm worry until what age he can keep up his work? 5 more year? At that time my brother will be at the age of college and my sisters will be at the age to started high school. So it's my job to help my family. Especially since I've gotten a privilege to go abroad, I can't failed!!!
