This is a long chapter so get ready.

Merlins POV
I was on my way back from cleaning Arthur's armer for this afternoon, and let me tell you this...armer is HEAVY! I should have asked Gwaine to help me carry it here. Well to late to do that, I sighed thinking of this pain in my ass called Arthur. I've started thinking of quitting, wait I can't do that! Because he wouldn't last a day with out me!
I reached Arthur's chambers, thankfully my arms didn't fall off on the journey here. I kicked the door with my foot three times to signal that I was going in. I had to contort my body a bit–to my discomfort–to actually turn the handle. I opened to door and walked in to see the king sitting at his desk taking care of some matters of the kingdom. He looked up with a surprised look.
"That was fast, a bit to fast," he said as he looked at me with a questionable look.
"Well umm, I must be getting better at my job then," I say with a smile. I placed down the basket and I then placed my tired hands on my hips. "Is there anything else sire?" I asked with sigh that I had been holding in.
"Make my bed, clean my chambers a bit, then I'll get ready and we will go down to the training grounds," Arthur looked up at me with a smile and a kind expression. Which made me worried.
"Ok sire," I walk over to his bed and begun to make it thinking there was something I was missing out on. I heard the chair Arthur was sitting on slide on the floor, and then heard footsteps. I turned to see Arthur leaning on the desk. He had his arms crossed and looked like he was waiting for me to confess something. "Yes sire?"
"A little bird informed me of something," I raised my eyebrow in confusion. 'What's he talking about?' I asked myself. "Do you want to know what it was?" He stood up probably and now had his hands begins his back. I nod my head wondering what on earth he found out about. "They told me they heard someone say and I quote 'God Arthur is such a prat. Why can't he clean his own armer, huh? Would it kill him to do physical labor once in his royal life' now tell me Merlin who would say that about me?" I gulped fully knowing who had that information. Gwaine. That little- wait till I get my hands on you Gwaine!
"I have no idea who would say that about such a great and amazing king, sire," I said in an offended tone. I looked to see what his facial expression was. It held a massive amount of announce. He sighed as he then proceeded to sit back in his chair.
"Well I guess a day in the stocks will help you remember," He stated with a smirk on his face thinking he had won, which he's right. He then proceeded to continue on with his work. When I thought I could get back to my work he said "Oh and you'll also be included in training today," he said not evern looking up from his papers.
"Great," I mumble to myself. 'Thanks a lot Gwaine,' I think sarcastically as I finish with the bed.

I stood in the middle of the training ground with a shield and sword. I'm meant to fight Arthur, Gwaine, Leon, Percival, Lancelot (Yes I'm keeping Lancelot alive in this) and Elyan in that order. So you can imagine I'm going to try and get my revenge on Gwaine, which if I do I could possibly get court using magic and then I would be burned at the pyre.
I wasn't going to use my magic in a fight against Arthur because I've gotta leave a bit of pride left in him, don't I? So I was down on the ground with in seconds of the fight, with Arthur's sword to my chest. "Merlin you really do suck at fighting don't you?" I went to say something sarcastic as usual but Arthur told me it was a rhetorical question.
Arthur walked over to the other knights and sat down probably thinking this will be over in a matter of seconds again. 'Oh no Arthur I won't be on the ground but Gwaine will be.' I was still on the ground as Gwaine started to walk over to me. He put a hand out to help me up but I just hit it away giving him a knowing look. He just shrugged down at me with an innocent smile.
"So I'm guessing the reason your the opponent for everyone is because Arthur told you?" He said getting ready for the fight we were about to have.
"Yea, now because of you I have to be in the stocks for the whole day tomorrow," I narrowed my eyes at him.
"I'm sorry Merlin, but it was funny seeing Arthur's face. And I'll try not to hurt you Merlin, but I can't make any promises. But if your still in one peace then maybe I can show you a thing or two later," He said getting into a fighting stance. Thinking he would win this like Arthur within seconds, but no I'll show him.
I smirk and look over at Arthur and I had an idea. "Hey Arthur! If I beat Gwaine here can I not be a dummy for practice today?" He look as if he had to think about it, but probably wasn't. He smirked and looked me dead in the eye with amusement.
"Sure, why not."
And with that the fight was under way. Gwaine decided to make the first move, he begun to charge at me. I ducked down so I was eye level with his knees and put my shield above my head just before he would have crashed into me, I then pushed up and with my magic I added a bit of strength into my legs. I flipped him over onto his back. Because I used a bit to much force I ended up flipping over with him. I landed on him, but because I was on top I had the advantage.
Because he was in confusion on what just happened, I put the tip of my sword under his chin and smirked at him with at wink. He looked shocked and then his had an impressed smirk. "You were saying," I leaned down and whispered in his ear.
I looked over at Arthur and the others. They all showed shocked expressions, which I was amused by. "Well, guess you can beat me after all," Gwaine said from underneath me. "But as much as I love being sat on by you, do you mind moving," I then noticed how it actually looked with my legs on either side of his hips.
I mutter a quick sorry to him as I got up and gave him a hand. We both looked over at the others. They were in complete shock, I had to hold back my laughter. "How the hell did you do that!" Arthur exclaimed in utter shock. Which I reply with a shrug of my shoulders.
"How ever he did it, it was good," Leon said still amazed at what I just accomplished.
"Good? It was amazing and impressive!" Gwaine exclaimed even though he was the one I flipped. I really didn't do much thought, but I can't tell them that I used magic or I'll die.
I look over at Arthur, he was still confused. "So Arthur I don't have to fight, right?" I say adding a bit of smugness to my voice. The look on his face cracked me up.
"Yes," he's said reluctantly, he turned to everyone else and they turned to him. "Well I guess because we don't have something to fight against we'll have to cut training short, or you can have a little more practice with each other. I'm going to my chamber to finish off some work," he then turned to go back to his work and the others went off to do their own thing.
Gwaine and I were the only ones left. We looked at each other at the same time which caused us to smile. "So, you still going to hang out with me at the tavern tonight?" He asked with hope in his voice.
I was debating weather or not he deserves it since he snitched on me. "I don't know, you did tell Arthur what I said," I look at him and he dose look guilty a bit. He then decided to give me the puppy dog eyes. "Why do you want me to go? Why not Percival or Lancelot?" I asked wondering why it had to be me.
He put his arm on my shoulder. "Because you're my best friend, and friends don't leave friends to drink alone," he said that as if though it was a scientific fact.
I started to walk away from him as he pleads with me. "Fine," I finally say, but I was was always going to go anyway but I just wanted him to feel bad. "But I have to be up early so I can be in the stocks, so that mean I can't have to many or I'll sleep in till noon," I tell him.
He shakes his head profusely before hugging me like it will be his last time seeing me, "Thanks buddy!"
"Ya, ya. But I have to get back to work so I'll see you at the tavern,"
"Ok see ya then," we waved at each other and then went to do our own duty's for the day.

Narrators POV

Merlin was on his way out of the citadel to meet Gwaine at the tavern. He promised himself not to drink to much because he had a day in the stocks tomorrow, if he's late he'll have hell to pay. He pasted a few guards on the way down and a few servants as well.
After a few minutes he arrived outside the tavern. He gripped the handle and pushed open the door. As usual it was load and bustling, it showed how alive and happy everyone was. Merlin wormed his way through the people with a few people saying hello and asked how Gauis was.
He had finally made it to the middle of the tavern, where he seen Gwaine arm wrestling with this huge buff guy. Merlin hissed because he sees where this might lead to. So he decided to stay out of the way until Gwaine was done and pray that he won't get beaten to a pulp. It was getting close, it looked like Gwaine was going to lose, until he seen Merlin watching. He smirked knowing Merlin was watching, which made Merlin chuckle.
Gwaine turned back to the guy, with one quick and swift movement he slammed the guys hand onto the table. There were cheers all around, Gwaine put his hand out to shake the guys hand. This is the moment Merlin feared, so he started to walk towards them. But before he could stop it the guy got up. And did what Merlin never expected, shake his hand back.
Merlin sighed in relief, thinking he didn't need to save his friends ass again. He walked back over to his drink to wait for Gwaine to toddle over to him. Which he did and because he already had a few –4– he was already in a party mood. "You finally made it! It took you forever!" He said as he slung his arm over Merlins shoulder.
"It's only seven at night Gwaine, I literally just finished work," He chuckled at his drunken friend. 'How the hell is he even a knight of Camelot?' He thought to himself. "So how many have you had?"
"One or two," he said like it was the most casual thing ever. Merlin looked over at the bar maid that held up four fingers. He just sighed at his drunken friend. "Well *hic* Merlin, I think we need to get this party started!" Gwaine said as he handed Merlin a pint.
~time skip to 1am where Merlin and Gwaine have had a lot to drink and now are wasted~
"I think you two should be heading home," said the tavern owner to the pair of wasted twats. "We need to close, so if you don't want to be locked in you better move," they both said 'yes sire' in unison, which cause them to crake up. Soon the owner just thrown them out with their tails between their legs.
The two laughed and sang on their way back to the citadel to which they tried? To stay as quiet as possible.–which with two wasted adults that can't hold their liquor, wasn't quiet what so ever–But they made it to Gwaines chamber because it was closer and they made to much noise already. Gwaine fumbled with his keys but finally got it.
"So Merlin, this is my humble abode!" Gwaine stated gesturing to his chambers. Which caused Merlin to be thrown into a fit of laughter. Gwaine looked at him with an offended look, so he grabbed Merlin by his hips and thrown him on the bed. This only caused Merlin to laugh louder, Gwaine joined in not knowing why the were laughing.
Once the laughing started to subside, they looked over at each other, not breaking eye contact once. "You shirt stinks of alcohol," Merlin scrunched his nose up in a playful way.
"Yours dose to," Gwaine chuckled, he then got up and removed his shirt, showing off his muscles in the process which Merlin –obviously because he was drunk off his ass–was staring intensely at his abs. "Now time for yours," motioning to Merlins shirt.
Merlin shook his head. Gwaine didn't now why, maybe he was embarrassed. "Ok Merlin you can keep yours on," Gwaine gave in to him. He sat down next to him on his bed.  Merlin rapped his arms around Gwaines torso. He was hugging him with a bit of force. Then Gwaine noticed something. "Wait Merlin, do you have muscles?"
"Why do you ask?" Merlin slurred letting go of Gwaine.
"I could feel them under you shirt," Gwaine said standing up and pulling Merlin up with him.
"Um well, I guess I do. But they aren't as big as yours," he giggled like a little girl, poking Gwaines bicep.
"Jesus, no wonder you were able to flip me! I thought you were all skin and bone!" He exclaimed with wide eyes. "Can I touch them?"
"Umm- shhhore," Merlin stuttered while turning his head away blushing. Gwaine then proceeded to touch all over poor Merlins torso. –with consent!– When Gwaine ran his fingers over the parts where his skin showed he shiver at his gentle touch. Gwaine went behind Merlin, grabbing his hips and pulling him down with him. Merlin was now sitting in Gwaines lap with his arms around his waist and Merlin has his arms around Gwaines neck.
The two inches apart. Gwaine slowly closes the gap, between them. Their body's being pressed together. Just as their lips are about to lock...Merlin falls asleep.
