2. Hunter Exam Part Two

Akihiro POV

    I was sitting in the car, staring out the window. I slightly looked at my right, eyeing Killua. He was messing with the wheels on his skateboard while staring out the window. I started to question why Illumi wasn't in the car. We were driving through the forest for quite some time until we reached the highway. I stared out the window, watching as the green surroundings turned into roads and cities. I opened the window slightly, feeling the wind hit my face. I looked over to Killua again, smiling slightly. He looked surprised at first but then had a big grin on his face. It was one of the only car rides I enjoyed.

 I received a phone call from Mrs. Zoldyck, "Yes Mrs. Zoldyck?" I said blandly but with respect. We were already maybe an hour away from the estate. "I forgot to inform you that Illumi isn't exactly going 'with' you, per se. He is in disguise. You will know who he is once you see him. Also, we accidentally got your tickets mixed up. You and Killua will be on different ships. Make sure that when you get to the exam, you keep somewhat of an eye on him. Understand?" she said in a calm yet confused tone. "Yes, Mrs. Zoldyck. Thank you for informing me. I will make sure to keep an eye on him. Goodbye," I replied as I hung up.

   As we got out of the car, I could smell the ocean. It was salty but fresh. It reminded me of when my family and I went on picnics on Saturday afternoons. I checked my bag, making sure I had everything. That's when I realized Killua didn't have a bag or anything except his skateboard. I dug through my bag to find a few chocolate robots in my bag. I handed him all of them and said "You might get hungry." I also handed him a few cans of juice and bottles of water in a bag. I put the chocolate robots in the bag. "You better stay hydrated or else I'll smack you," I said while bonking him on the head. "Yeah yeah, whatever old lady.." he mumbled. " EXCUSE ME!?!?" I said while sounding shocked and insulted. We held eye contact for a few seconds and then started to crack up. "Anyways, your mom messed up our tickets so we won't be on the same boat. Good luck!"

I was walking towards the ships while he ran after me and hugged me super quick. I looked down at him, smiling. He buried his head in the area just below my upper chest. "I'll miss you.." he said. I hugged him back and said, "You too, kiddo. You better not do anything stupid while away from me," while I patted his head. "We won't be away from each other for too long," I said while slightly smiling down at him. "You better behave. Seriously. If you don't, I am going to hit you so hard that your brain is gonna shake." I playfully punched him in the arm and kneeled down to be his height. He looked at me with somewhat puppy eyes. When did he learn that? We have always been close. He sees me like family and just adores me. I guess he looks up to me. We've been really close for a long time. Whenever we were laughing together or something, out of the corner of my eye, I would see Illumi slightly frowning. Killua was waving his hand in my face. "Akiiiiiii you gotta go. My ship won't be here for another hour. Hurry up!!" I realized I was going to miss the ship. I stood up and ran while waving to Killua. 

    As I finally stepped on the ship, I looked around. There was a lot of men.. only men. I was uncomfortable, but there usually aren't any women on my missions unless it's a ball or something. I sat down and leaned against one of the walls, tired. I could feel my eyes grow heavy as I fell asleep.
