4. Hunter Exam Part Four

hiiii lovelies. I know not a lot are reading right now, but I hope you like it so far. Some of my friends are legitimately trashing me cause they think writing fanfic is lame and stupid. The thing is, HUN IDGAF XD I write fanfic because its a hobby AND I think other people might enjoy it. And they didn't even read it, so who are they to judge? Anyways, hope you enjoy it!!

TIME SKIP TO AFTER BEING GUIDED BY THE KIRIKO

    After being guided by the son of the Kiriko couple, we were waiting in the back room. It started ascending, so I assumed it was an elevator. When we got out, we saw the rest of the contestants. They all seemed quite professional and the energy in the room was tense. We were greeted by a green jelly-bean looking thing. It said, "Hello, these are your numbers." and handed us each a number. I was the last person to grab one in the group, so my number was 406. After, we were greeted by a short fat guy. 

    "Are you new around here?" he said, "Hi, there!" He is number 16.  How'd he get up there? "Can you see us from up there?" Gon said. The man said "Sort of," and jumped down. "How do I put this... I've taken part in the Hunter Exam 35 times now. All four of us said, "35 times?!" He replied with "Er... You could say I'm a veteran in the Hunter Exam." Leorio mumbled, "That's not something to be proud of..." which Kurapika replied with "Indeed." The man said, "You can ask me anything you don't understand here." "Thank you." Gon said. The man said "I'm Tonpa!" which gon then introduced us to him. H then started to explain some of the other contestants.

    There was a scream from a man. Everyone turned their heads to see who screamed. There was a man whose arms were turning to- ...flowers? What? How is that even possible? Nonetheless, it was quite beautiful. The flowers were a shade of pinkish-red. The arms of the man were being vaporized into tiny red flowers. When it was done, the rest of his body was left lying on the ground, lifeless.  I wanted to know why only his arms were affected, but oh well. 

   "How magical~," a man said. I looked at him. I couldn't help but stifle a laugh. I mean, he looked like a joke. Legitimately. He reminded me of a joker or a jester. Better yet, a clown. His hair was a pretty shade of red. Probably Fuschia. It was standing up. Probably not on its own. I wonder how much hair product he used to make that possible? Oh well, not worth asking. "His arms dissipated into petals just like that. And I didn't even touch him." Everyone was taken aback. "Who did this? Why? How did happen?" Is probably what they are thinking. It would make sense. All those questions would indeed be helpful, but everyone is too scared to ask. "Just be careful. You must apologize if you run into someone." Of course, this guy also cared about manners and politeness. For some reason, I question whether he himself is respectful or not. "It's that dangerous guy again..." Tonpa said. "Again?" Gon asked. Tonpa then explained what happened in the last exam. While they did, I took a little break and sat down against a wall.

   Before I could rest, I heard Leorio spit out something. I looked up. Juice? Hmm. It seems they received the juice from Tonpa. I knew he was odd. Why would someone take the exam 35 times? Why not just give up? But I ignored the rest of the situation. I looked around a bit more. I noticed someone quite odd. A tall man with pins all over his face. And the body? Is he in pain right now? He doesn't look like it. I looked around again. I saw the man from earlier. The clown-looking creep. He seems... familiar. Have I seen him before? No, I haven't met him. But...

    There was an alarm. The gate in front of us opened up. I stood up and patted dirt and dust off my clothing. There was a man in a suit. He had light purple hair and a mustache. It seemed he didn't have a mouth. "Sorry to keep you waiting for so long. Now, we have come to the end of the exam registration. And so, the Hunter exam begins now!" said the man. I am assuming he is one of the examiners for the hunter exam. "Let me remind you again, If you are not lucky or strong enough, taking the Hunter Exam could lead to serious injuries on your part and it could even cost you your lives.  And for those who are taking the test in spite of all of that, please come with me. For those who are giving up, please leave the place by taking the elevator right behind you. Well then, All 404 candidates have decided to take the first test." He began walking.
