"Milady there are letters for you," one of the maids of the manor called out, however the young lady in question is nowhere to be found. Deciding to just place it to lady's room, the maid went upstairs to see the young girl reading some manga while on her headset.
"Ah Teresa good afternoon," the girl looked up when she felt someone's presence. The maid warmly smiled before handling her some envelopes, "These have arrived just now." Though not sure what are in those immaculate envelopes, she thank the maid.
On the back of the envelope, written in a fine script was Sophia Valeria Schmidt. And the wax sealing the envelope was the crimson insignia Veritas; immediately the young lady know from whom it was. Nerves tensing up as she delicately pulled the letter within the envelope.
Her eyes widen when three particular words were sighted. She pinched herself and checked her pulse then repeated it more than a dozen times before jumping on her bed, squealing."What a sweet fangirl you are," a boy her age voice out. Her jumping ceased as she glared at him. "You won't get my heart with that death stare Sophie." He just continued to tease, making his way towards the lady.
"Who says I want it?" She retorted.

Banters and teases were thrown but when it's about to hit the climax, the boy then became quite serious. "So why are you so happy, short cake?" "Just because you're 6 foot 6 and I'm a foot smaller doesn't mean I'm short," she hissed, "But if you must know, I've been accepted in Harvard." She proudly showed him the Acceptance letter, the crimson Veritas at the top is enough to prove it legit. "So when are you leaving?" "Well it says there that I'm invited to attend the pre-freshman class so most likely by the end of the week. Heard from Mike that you and Chelsea have been accepted to German State U," she mused, "Good thing Chelsea's there to keep you in check." Sophia kept on musing some sort of half ass compliments or comments. However her string of words was soon cut. "But who would keep you in check? I thought..." "That we all would be studying in the same university? Honestly Rye that's completely absurd, even Mike is pursuing a different university than you and he's your best friend," she said as if it's the most obvious thing in the world. "I know that. But you're going to Harvard, literally oceans away," his voice was low but his words were spoken in pure seriousness. "Lucky you huh?" She just cheekily replied. "Tch."
ღJe perds mon souffle quand tu t'en vas Je m'imagine à tes côtésღ
He glared, "That's besides the point. Why didn't you tell us sooner? Why didn't you said anything to me?"
Sophia closed her eyes then sighed. Plopping herself on the bed, she opened them directly gazing on the ceiling of her room the manga beneath her completely forgotten. "I've told you a few hundred times you just don't listen." On his place, Rye crossed his arms clearly pissed by this turn of events.
ღMême si j'essaie de l'ignorer Tu es toujours là dans mes penséesღ
"I listen to everything you say, but you always joke about studying on different universities at each change of semester how do you expect me to think?"
Her eyes were in no way looking at him but the intensity of his voice and the aura he's emitting is enough for her, to see he's not completely ecstatic about the idea. "Point taken, but have you not thought that you'll live wayyy longer with me being away. Plus there's one less hurdle in your lovelife," she chuckled however when she opened her eyes she come face to face with him. His arms supporting his weight were placed on either side of her. It's a very uncompromising position with him on top of her.

"You've taken years in my life with the daily beatings and insults but you've taken my life when you've said that," he sincerely told her. His pale blue orbs against her deep gray ones. The words echoed in her mind, her brain in over drive trying to decode some secret message from him. She had known him since first year middle school just three years behind Mike as Rye's longest running friend. Six years and a few months, even if both would never admit despite their cat-dog demeanor they're each other's partner in crime, and best friend. And admittedly Sophia had fallen for him on the way but she's not dumb, clueless or dense despite how she appears to be, she's going to Harvard for fudge's sake. She knew all too well Rye had his eyes for their brown haired friend and even if she seems to be out to demolish his chances, she supports her friend indefinitely.
ღGoing out of my head Alone in this bed Quand je m'endors tu te réveillesღ
Her silence was cue for him to continue, "I won't be there to keep an eye on you. Honestly why didn't you tell me sooner..." She met his eyes, searching for anything in there. However sincere as he might sound, she just scoffed. "Oh I know you would have the grandest party if..." Her sarcasm was immediately cut by a kiss. It was a swift one but was enough to redden her cheeks. Fighting the horrendous blush, Sophia tried to keep her stoic face. Seeing her expression, Rye bit back a chuckle. Intently looking at her, his eyes became gentler. He didn't know when it started and how it did but this shows that he really do. "I love you Sophie." He said using the nickname she exclusively let him call her. He slowly leaned in as his lips brushes hers. With her mind in haywire it took a while for her to process what is happening but as soon as she did, Sophia pulled him for a round.
All said and done, Rye leaned his forehead against hers, eyes locking on each other. "You'll be back right?"ღEt je compte les heures j'en perds le sommeilღ
Pulling him for another kiss, a smirk crept her face "Is that enough answer..."
