In which Stefan has a fever and Calum and Luke tell him a story to help make him feel better.
_____Luke.
I groaned as I sat in the living room, looking through all my college letters and loans. The college life was hard, but I needed to complete college and get a degree so I could a job to help support Calum and Stefan, so this was worth it.
This was only my first semester of college, and imagining how things would be in the future, scared me. But pushing through it was my only option at this point, if I wanted any chance at getting a degree.
So far it was winter break so I had a few weeks off before I had to go back to school.
I went to a public college while Calum took online classes at home, so he could take care of Stefan, but even I wasn't sure if Calum was having the same issues I was.
Moving out was our first priority because Calum and I felt like it was hard to burden Aaron with a baby that woke him up every night and had to have extra shelter for.
Aaron did ask if we were going to take Niko with us, but that was hard to decide, consider that a lot of apartments didn't allow pets and that Stefan was still a baby, and that Niko was a jumpy dog.
At this point, we weren't sure yet.
"Cal, can you come in here for a minute?" I called out.
"I can't right now. Stefan's being a pain," Calum replied from our room.
"Just come here, please?" I asked again.
I heard Calum sigh then walk out of our room. He walked down the stairs and soon enough I saw him standing in the doorway, his face tired as he held a crying Stefan, who was red in the face.
"What's up Lukey?" Calum tiredly asked.
"Have you paid off your semester tuition yet?" I asked.
"Yeah. My dad just paid it off yesterday. Why...is something wrong?" Calum asked, worried.
"My college letter just came in. My parents sent it to me. I'm a bit short on paying all of it off. My parents can't afford to pay for my tuition this semester because of all the repairs they had done on the house and for paying for Ben and Jack's tuition as well," I replied, sighing.
"Don't worry about it Lukey. My dad got more profits than average from his restaurant when people came in for the holidays. Your parents showed him the letter after it got sent. He paid off the rest of it already," Calum replied, taking a pacifier out of a case and put it in Stefan's mouth, who slowly started to chew on it, stopping his cries.
"Do my parents know about that?" I asked.
"My dad called them and told them that he took care of the rest of it," Calum replied.
"Are you really sure about this Cal?" I asked.
"Yes, of course. We have a baby to raise together, so you're part of my family now, including our new family. We help and care for wag other. And besides, you're my boyfriend. Why wouldn't you be and why wouldn't my dad help pay for it?" Calum asked me.
"You have a point," I sighed.
"Exactly," Calum said, just as Stefan spit out his pacifier and started to cry again.
"How's Stefan's fever going?" I asked, standing up and walking over to Calum, starting to blow onto Stefan's forehead to cool him down.
"Not very good. He's burning up, having diarrhea when I go to change his diaper, crying nonstop, not drinking from his bottle, and so on," Calum listed, sighing.
