"How was your flight Chaengie?"
Chaeyoung had just landed in Melbourne ahead of her members. Not only has she been missing her hometown, but she's also been missing her old friends. She's got some fun things planned for Blackpink Dairies to show Blinks what it was like for her living in Melbourne.
"It was okay, I slept through most of it. Oh! I'll talk to you later, wifey. I gotta check in."
"Okay, hubby, have fun! We'll see you soon." Before hanging up, she can hear the voices of the crackhead duo sitting in the back of the car scream out byes as well. Laughing a little to herself, she screams a bye back earning a wince from Jennie and her manager beside her.
"Let's go!"
Not having to go fully incognito yet, Chaeyoung wanders through the streets of Melbourne filming with her friend beside her and manager keeping a close distance away, finding herself in Degraves St, known for having some popular restaurants and cafes as well as fun graffitied art on the walls. Looking around in awe, she takes note of all the changes that have happened around her. Both old and new places she used to come to as a teenager. She jumps in glee and holds onto her friend for support, feeling nothing but overwhelming happiness as she pulls out the camera to start recording.
"I'm finally back in my hometown! I used to come here in high school to get juice," she shared a soft, short chuckle. "I love this street. If you guys happen to take a trip here, make sure you visit this place. It's the Degraves St." (y'all side note I saw Chaeng here when she was meeting her friend for coffee 😭😭 okay back to the story 😭) She made a mental note to come back later to catch up with her friends here when she has no Blackpink filming getting in the way.
The further into Melbourne CBD she gets, the giddier she becomes, all her childhood memories flooding back to her. "Nothing has really changed here, I'm amazed. I used to come here and hang out with my friends, and now..." she pauses and thinks back to one person, in particular, a rush of excitement rushing through her. "Ah, I'm having so much fun being back here." As she crosses the big intersection in front of Flinders St Station, she can picture her young self hooking arms with her friends and running towards the train they were about to miss to get home. Both Y/N and Vanessa always did have a knack for making her just shy of missing the train somehow.
"We should cross over here," She says to her friend, hooking arms together once more. They approach the bridge, crossing over the river in the direction of some of the galleries she used to love coming to. "I loved art while I was young. I went to that art museum over there so many times. I think about once a week," With Y/N, she thinks to herself, my partner in crime. "I was always there because I really loved art so much." Chaeyoung turns the camera around, providing a POV shot of what she was reminiscing in. As the tram passes by, she could've sworn she saw someone in there that she knew, so she unconsciously followed it with the camera before that person fell out of view. I'm probably seeing things. Shaking her thoughts away, she continues the walk along the bridge, admiring her surroundings. No matter how hard she tries, all the places she's coming across on this little excursion down memory lane always falls back to one person.
"Over there!" She points towards the park by the river.
"We used to have picnics over there." Her friend exclaims.
"Right, with our friends!" Chaeyoung sighs happily, thinking back at all the unforgettable memories she made there.
<_flashback_>
"Holy hell that's good."
"You sound so surprised."
