Sophie's eyes were molded to the television screen while her fingers nestled through brown strands of hair. Her back rested against the cushion of the couch, her legs spread and draped over her boyfriends' shoulders as he sat between them.
Bryce had been completely focused upon his video game, occasionally stealing kisses to her inner bare thigh every now and then mixed between ruptures of frustrated cursing when his online partner failed - correction 'fucked up' their mission just as they had done prior - which is why he preferred playing with one of his real friends versus online (tending to happen late at night when he couldn't sleep).
For once, all sporting practices had been cancelled for a staff meeting, leaving an open Thursday for all Liberty athletes. Bryce attempted to rally the troops for everyone to gather at his pool house for some booze and pizza but surprisingly, everyone else had other plans not involving their star quarterback, leaving him to spend the remaining day with his girlfriend. Not that he'd complain of course, he enjoyed having Sophie all to herself when none of her girls were present and neither of his guys.
He felt different when he was around Sophie. Bryce devoured in the silence that came from the curve of her smile and warmth in her eyes. There was something about the blonde that made him feel at peace with the world while opening his mind to possibilities outside his normal life. She had been the first and only girl to actually take the time to get to know him. In the beginning, he couldn't stand the know-it-all, who had a retort for everything he said (which at times irritated him to the bone) but nonetheless turned him on that there had been someone who wasn't afraid to put him in his place. Not that he needed to be, in his eyes he was never wrong.
Still, Sophie not once feared him, not when he first got in a fight with his father in the middle of his family dinner, even when he nearly upturned the entire dining table nor did she turn cheek when they argued for the first time and sent her flying into the corner. Instead, she crawled back to him, both of them crying apologies and holding the other until she admitted she was wrong.
Sophie accepted Bryce just as she accepted everyone - a blessing and a curse, Sophie Greene's heart was twice the size, and Bryce hated how much she cared for everyone and everyone, and he absolutely despised how everyone loved her. In a sense, it was a love hate ordeal. He loathed in the fact he had the girl every guy wanted and relished that out of all Liberty High males, she wanted him (though there wasn't much competition after all). It was obvious which guys wanted a piece of his cheerleader, seeing their wandering eyes when it appeared as if he weren't watching, only to surprise those later on in the stall and remind them why they should take interest in her.
Bryce Walker didn't like sharing what was his: the spotlight on the football team, being number one on the boys Hot List, most popular and best, his best friend, and girlfriend.
