"Why were you here with Akaashi?" Kuroo asked. Without himself realizing he was squeezing Izumi's wrist tightly, causing the girl to wince in pain. He quickly realized that and let go of her. Izumi retracted her hands, holding on to the wrist Kuroo had just held with her other hand. She looked down, for some reason feeling guilty.

"W-We were.....we were...." I can't tell him we were on a blind date. Izumi bit her lips, trying to think of an excuse. Wait, why can't I tell him that? What is Kuroo doing here in the first place? She knew that him being here by coincidence is completely bullshit. "Kuroo, why are you here?"

Her question caused Kuroo to falter. "W-Well I was uh- I was...."

"Excuse me miss, mister, would you please take a seat?" the waitress interrupted the two.

"Ah, I'm sorry...." Izumi quickly sat back down, and Kuroo sat where Akaashi was just sitting. The waitress gave Kuroo a weird look. That's strange, I was sure she came in with another boy, a prettier one. But this one is kind of hot.

"Are you ready?" the waitress asked.

Izumi's head was a mess by now. She was completely flustered and had no idea what was going on. The only thing she was capable of was reacting to whatever was placed before her. "Um, yeah. A special sukiyaki and the grilled mackerel, please."

"Understood. And for the- uh....friend?" The waitress looked at Kuroo weirdly.

"The same as her." Kuroo didn't even bother looking at the menu. The waitress thanked them and collected the menu back. Noticing the strange atmosphere between the two, she quickly left to help other tables. Maybe she's caught cheating or something. The waitress decided it was best to leave those two alone for the time being.

Izumi rubbed her wrist nervously. On the other side Kuroo was shifting around in his seat uncomfortably. "Were you...on a date?" he finally asked. Izumi ended up nodding. "Since when were you guys a thing?"

"W-We just met today."

"You just met today and you already went on a date with him?! Don't you know how dangerous that is? If it weren't Akaashi but some smelly old fart, would you-"

"Akaashi-san is Youko's cousin. She was the one who introduced him to me."

Youko..... Kuroo has never felt such a strong urge to hit a girl before. He clenched his fist tightly, gritting his teeth to hold back his anger. "Why Akaashi?" he asked. Why couldn't it be me?

"K-Kuroo why are you asking me this?"

"Because-" Well....b-because......

"Plus, shouldn't you be with Kogawa-san?" If he really did come here to eat lunch he should have brought Yasuko, instead of come here alone.

At the mention of Yasuko, Kuroo's gut feeling told him something was wrong. "Why? Didn't I tell you that we're not dating?"

"You don't have to lie to me Kuroo. I understand."

Kuroo's brows furrowed in confusion. "What are you talking about?"

"She's really pretty. If I were you I'd like her too. She seems to like you quite a lot, so you should just make it official."

"Hold on Izumi, I don't like Kogawa."

"Then why-" Izumi looked up, but she held back. Should she tell him that she saw him the other day? But what if he gets mad at her? After all, it's something so personal. She tilted her head back down, and fiddled with her fingers nervously.

"Why what?" Kuroo asked. He placed a hand on Izumi's. "Izumi look at me. I don't want you to misunderstand anything."

"I-I saw you and Kogawa-san on Thursday....by the storage room..." Kuroo immediately understood what Izumi meant. God damn it. Of all things for her to see that was the worst. And to top it all off....
