Trigger warning: mentions blood and death
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Her legs gave way, and the next thing he knew, she was sinking to the ground with a dagger in her stomach. They both knew it was fatal, and that she was going to die very soon.
Kobe ran to his daughter, a fraction of disappointment on his face, replaced immediately with profound anguish. He kneeled in front of her and caught her before she could fall all the way down.
"This wasn't supposed to happen! You were supposed to run away!" Kobe was sobbing violently, and nothing in the world could get him to stop.
"Yeah, well, I couldn't really ignore the call of my gods now, could I?"
This was followed by a fit of coughs, and she saw the blood in her hands. She knew she was going to die in a matter of minutes. She could feel her life slipping away, and he muttered words of endearment to her.
"Don't...leave. Please don't...leave. Stay...with me?"
"Always"
He stayed with the fallen hero, and soon enough, he watched her close her eyes, and draw her final breath. He released her now lifeless hand, and cried out in agony. Before he knew it, he was shouting and cursing at the gods.
"Why did you send her? Why do you always send the good ones?"
He vowed on that day to get his revenge on the gods. He would make them pay for the death of his daughter.
