Jace's pov

Time really flies by when you are having fun with the people you love. In the blink of an eye, both Lexi and I are in high school. 12 years of wonderful friendship, every little detail of Lexi is etched in my mind, from her weird skittles obsession to her little crush on dylan o'brien. I was lost in my train of thoughts when my phone started ringing. Lexi? Why is she calli......OH MY GOSH I WAS SUPPOSED TO BRING HER TO SCHOOL WE ARE SO LATE OH SHE MUST BE PISSED.

My thoughts were reconfirmed when I took the call only to hear Lexi shouting" YOU DICKHEAD! WHERE ARE YOU? WE ARE GONNA BE LATE JACE CARTER".

"Sorry princess it slipped my mind, don't worry I will be there in a sec" I replied before grabbing my bag and rolling down the stairs.

In no time I was right infront of Lexi's house, greeted by a really, really angry Lexi. Lexi's face was bright red and she looked like a volcano ready to explode. Once she got in the car, I gave her a morning kiss on her cheeks only to see her turn redder (if it was even possible)almost immediately from my kiss. Aww I love it when she blushes, she looks so adorable.

" Sorry Lexi, I " before I could continue she turned to face me before giving me one of her breathtaking smiles and placed her head on my shoulder telling me its alright.

Woodsville High, that was the school both Lexi and I was in. Similar to all other high schools, the school was filled with the streotypical- cheerleaders, jocks, nerds, geeks, emos you name it we have it. Lexi never cared about being streotyped as a nerd, she did what she wanted and never gave a damn about what others thought of her. Thats just one of the many reasons I love her. It is hard to believe she is actually a girl because she refuses to wear makeup or fix her hair but still manages to look pretty. She is just the way she is and I love her for who she is.

Hopping out of my car, Lexi and I walked into school. I walked Lexi to her class before heading for my own. Gosh what would I do without Lexi.
Lexi's pov
Sitting in my seat, I could not help but think back to the kiss Jace gave me this morning. Sure it was just a friendly gesture like always but that did not stop my heart from pumping twice the speed. I knew that Jace would only treat me as just a friend, his type was the pretty blonde cheerleaders like all his other girlfriends which barely lasted an hour. Jace was a player and everyone knew that, I know for sure that our friendship is way more precious then anything and I would never let my little crush on him destroy it. Sitting there on my seat, I could not help but begin to think about Jace's soft blond hair to his beautiful blue eyes and his adorable laughter.

" RING" the sound reverberated through the entire school. My favourite part of school is, you guessed it-lunch. The food that the lunchlady cooks is actually quite good compared to the food I get at home from my horrible aunt. My aunt and her daughter-Jessica the head cheerleader, never fail to surprise me with how horrible they are. My aunt never cared about me ,she is never home most of the time and when she is, she treats me like a servant. Jessica was no different than her mother, forcing me to do her hair and iron her clothes. Any wrinkles in her clothes would result to a slap on my face. After getting my food, I was excited to sit with Jace and his jocky friends who totally welcome me, that surprised me at first but they are actually really kind once you get to know them. Before I even took my first step, Jessica appeared out of no where and stuck out her long bony legs, tripping me over. The worse part is I landed on the floor with my spaghetti all over my face and chest area. Laughter soon filled the entire canteen. Still recovering from the shock I stood up and before I knew it Jace came rushing to me, dragging me to the female toliet.

"Go clean yourself up I will bring you some clothes okay, princess?" he instructed me before running off to his locker.

Feeling humiliated I started washing my face and took off my shirt before using tissues to wipe off the spaghetti sauce from my body. Tears soon rolled down my cheeks as memories of Jessica slapping, kicking me and humiliating me reappeared in my mind. Before I knew it Jace rushed into the toliet, and hugged me.

"Don't cry princess, be strong. If Jessica wasn't a girl I would definitely punch her in her pretty little face. Don't re" Jace comforted me before helping me put on the shirt. Thank god i had a tank top on or else Jace would have saw me...... that thought immediately made my face heat up. However hearing Jace say that Jessica had a pretty face made me feel jealous for some reason. Jace held my hand as we rushed out of the toliet, many gave me looks of sympathy while Jessica's minions gave me a look of disgust.  Well what a great way to start the year, really looking forward to school tomorrow. ( note the sarcasm )
