Cigarettes
They are ways to relax my muscles
Ways to free my tenseness and let go of the thoughts that linger harshly in my mind
If you smell them on me, I bet I stink
If you smell them on me then you know I do
If you smell them on me then why ask why when I should be asking about why you care
I am not invading your choice to smoke, I’m not forcing a cig into your mouth
Or down your throat
So don’t ask me why and expect to hear the truth
Depression
Is the reason my muscles are tense
The reason my thoughts come back to linger in a different spot than last time but harsher and more violent.
If you see it in me, I bet I look sad.
If you see it in me then you know my emotion
If you see it in me then why ask why when I should be asking why you care
I’m not invading your happiness or making your life worse
I’m not screaming my thoughts out loud
So don’t ask me why and expect the truth.
Reasons
Everyone wants reasons
As if they feel obligated to know how when why where and what is going on, what someone’s doing, why someone’s doing it, where they are, how they are, who they are.
But why?
Why?
Why?
Why?
