Goodness, someone help him.
He needs help.
He can't believe himself even. Drinking? Drinking just to numb the pain?
Tanjiro's troubled by the thoughts that Zenitsu would leave him for a random girl. Was he not good enough? Was there something wrong with him? Was he just such a terrible person that Zentisu doesn't even want to spend the time with him?
He forces the Tequila down his throat, trying to drink the pain away.
He doesn't care anymore. He just-- he just can't.
☂☂☂
Muzan steps into the bar and instantly seats himself down. He sighs, as he orders a drink for himself. While the bartender worked on his drink, Muzan looked around the room, trying to admire the pretty decorations.
But he couldn't, because he noticed how sad a poor soul was. He was seated not too far from him, and forcing the shots down his throat.
Muzan normally came here to admire the pretty place they kept, but with Tanjiro drinking his life away just made Muzan feel a little guilty.
He stood up, and walked over to the young man. "So," He starts, taking a seat beside Tanjiro. "What are you doing here by yourself, hm?" He asks.
Tanjiro gives him a glance, and forces another shot down his throat. "My ex cheated on me." He explains, as he settles the little cup down onto the table. "I'm here to blur the memories." He says, giving Muzan a bored, half lidden stare.
Muzan only remain silent, and pats Tanjiro's hair. "There's more ways than this... you know."
Tanjiro hums, almost as if he was agreeing with Muzan. "This is the quickest way." His eyes aren't too focused on Muzan, but instead at the other Tequila shots.
"I see." Muzan smiles, continuously stroking Tanjiro's hair softly. He couldn't help but admire the pretty red hair Tanjiro had. It reminded him of something. "How about we lay off of the drink for a while, and take some fresh air outside?" He asks.
Tanjiro looks up at him, and back at the shot before sighing. "Maybe. That might help me."
So together, they both stand up and take a breather outside. The night was cold and chilly, but Muzan didn't mind. Tanjiro instead shivered, and rubbed his hands together, trying to create warmth.
Tanjiro regretted the second he stepped out, and Muzan noticed it almost instantly.
"Don't you like the cold?" Muzan asks, to which Tanjiro shakes his head.
"No. I-- I hate it." Tanjiro sucks in a breath, and exhales. "I just really want the sunlight to shine down... why is that so hard to ask for?" He asks Muzan, who doesn't reply. "It's been so long since I've felt the warmth."
Instead, he just strokes Tanjiro's head slowly, as he stares at the dark, starless sky.
"Hm... Maybe instead of hating it... why don't you learn to appreciate it?" Muzan suggests.
Tanjiro laughs at that. "I just-- I don't. I can't. It's just something I don't want, I want warmth and sunlight, sir." He says, glancing up at him.
"I see. Is this related to your break up?" Muzan hums.
Tanjiro nods. "I was ghosted."
"Would you like me to help?" Muzan asks, which makes Tanjiro's face flush. "I mean, I could spend some time with you." He quickly explains, a little flustered by his own mistake as well.
Tanjiro couldn't tell...
He couldn't tell if it was the alcohol or was it Muzan that made him feel so warm and nice on the inside. Tanjiro fidgits with the hem of his sleeve, "Yes, please." He says, staring at Muzan with pretty red eyes.
Muzan pats Tanjiro's back comfortingly.
