~Levy~
"Noo!" I cried into my headset as Lucy laughed beside me. "Juvia is sorry." A voice called through, as I watched my character die. "You sit on a throne of lies!" I screamed, causing the girls to laugh. Lucy and I were playing online with our friends Juvia and Lisanna. I blame Gajeel for my love of games, and I made sure I could wipe the floor with him.
"Guys let's go get some food!" Lisanna shouted into her mic. "Same place then?" I asked. Once everyone agreed we all left the game and Lucy and I got ready. "Your car or mine?" Lucy asked as we headed out. I grinned and pulled her to my car. The cafe the girls and I usually eat at was only a fifteen minute drive away, and soon we were all gathered round one of the tables.
"So Lucy." Lisanna started once we had ordered our food. The blonde looked up from her milkshake. "Your timer finally ran out eh?" She said while wiggling her eyebrows. Must everyone talk about the clocks? I inwardly groaned. Lucys smile made me feel guilty though, and I had mentally slapped myself. I won't be bitter. Lucy told them about Natsu and how she felt when her timer ran out. She glanced nervously at me, not wanting to upset me but i waved her off with a smile.
"Well, I'm excited." Lisanna said with a grin. "i have a little under a week!" She squeeled and we laughed. "So does Juvia!" The French transfer student cried. She quickly rambled something off in french, only Lucy catching it and laughing. "So what are everyone's plan for today?" I asked as our food arrived. "Juvia works tonight." "I'm not doing anything." Lisanna said. "Well why don't we go shopping then? I have to work in the morning so I can head home after diner" Lucy said.
With the plan for the day set we at our lunch, laughing at Lisannas attempt to learn french from Juvia. After lunch the French woman left for work and the girls pulled me towards the strip mall. Several hours later, a bag of book and a new outfit, Lucy and I left for my apartment. "You really think this will be ok?" Lucy asked as she held up her new dress. I smiled softly as I cleaned up diner. "Positive. Natsu is a lucky guy." I said softly.
Lucy smiled a bit sadly. "I'm sorry Levy, I just-" "Dont worry about it Lucy, I'm happy for you. Now get going before it gets too late, you need to rest up for work." She smiled and gave me a hug before leaving. I finished cleaning up, knowing Gajeel would be home before long. I decided to turn in early, the unexpected shopping trip had taken more out of me than I thought. "Bed time furbaby. " I muttered as I picked up Lily, carrying him into my room.
He quickly curled up on my pillow while I changed before crawling under the blankets. I started to doze off, only waking up slightly when there was a muffled noise in the kitchen. So noisy Gajeel... I thought sleepily. My phone buzzed and I groaned quietly as I opened it, frowning at the text.
From Gajeel,
Gonna be late shrimp, jeep won't start. It took my brain a moment to function before I sat up quickly, sending a reply text.
Your not home already?
The text was answered with a picture of Natsu bent over Gajeels jeep, hooking up jumper cables followed by Why? My heart felt like it was gonna bust out of my chest as another sound came from the kitchen. Lily hissed from my pillow and I quickly grabbed him.
There's someone in the kitchen. I thought it was you.
I hurried into Gajeels room, keeping my eyes down the hall. I grabbed the bat I knew he carried around before peeking back out the door. My phone went off again.
Don't do anything stupid. I'm coming in Natsus car.
Now I just have to wait for Gajeel to get here. A shadow came out of the kitchen and I shrunk back into Gajeels room, hiding behind the door with a hissing Lily. There were sounds of shuffling and then something breaking. If that was mom's figurine... I quietly cursed. I tried to keep a hold of Lily, but with the bat in one hand he managed to slip out of my grip. He dashed out of Gajeels room, earning a curse from the man in our home down the hall. I prayed he wouldn't come in here, maybe he would be happy with whatever was in the main room of the apartment.
Of course I couldn't be so lucky.
The thudding footsteps came into Gajeels room, and I tried to shrink further behind the door. I tried to steady my breathing as he rummaged around Gajeels room, but I couldn't just let him. My stuff, fine. But not Gajeels things. I took a deep breath as I heard the footsteps approaching the door. Once it moved I swung the bat hard, connecting it with the man's middle. He let out a gasp and doubled over, and I sprinted from the room. The man cursed and I heard him run after me. Crap, crap, crap! I skidded into the kitchen, my socks making me slide as I ran. The door burst open and I gasped in relief as Gajeel came running in, Natsu hot on his tail.
I flung myself at Gajeel, clinging to him as his arms gripped me tightly. The man from before rounded into the kitchen and stopped when he saw the two men. Gajeel growled angrily and gently pushed me aside before taking off after him. The two disappeared into the hall and I shakily sank to the floor. Natsu kneeled beside me and gently rubbed my shoulder. "You alright Levy?" I took a shaky breath and laughed slightly. "Been better." He smiled softly and helped me to the table, sitting me in a chair.
After several loud thuds and more suspicious shattering sounds, Gajeel came into the kitchen dragging the mysterious man behind him. I gasped lightly and hurried to Gajeel, wiping away some blood from his forehead. Natsu took the man and looked at us. "I'll take care of this guy. Will you guys be ok?" He asked. Gajeel nodded, "Yeah, I'll come get my car tomorrow. Thanks man." Natsu grinned and nodded before walking out. I pulled Gajeel to the chair I had vacated and made him sit before cleaning the cut on his head.
"You ok Shrimp?" He asked quietly. I laughed shakily. "I'm fine. I'm more worried about your thick skull." I said, gently touching his head. He reached up and grabbed my shaking hands. "Seriously Levy, are you ok?" I looked at him and his eyes seemed to burn into me. I wanted to lie, but it was Gajeel damn it. "I was scared..." I whispered, my hands shaking more. Before I knew it, Gajeel had pulled me into his lap and his arms were securely around me. "Gajeel, your head..." I tried to wiggle out of his grip but he clung tighter. "You said it yourself, thick headed. I'm fine." I let out a shaky laugh as I clutched at his shirt. He gently rubbed my back as I shook as I tried to calm down, and eventually I fell asleep on his lap.
