HELLO! THANK YOU to those who read these notes! Just a forewarning -- I'm very awkward, so I'm sorry if this comes out through my writing.
Welcome to History! I hope you enjoy! I only have a couple of content warnings: one, there will be a lot of cursing, two, there will be sexual themes and underage drinking and three, there will be mentions of mental health, ptsd, anxiety and suicidal thoughts. If any of these topics trigger, please log off now and have an amazing rest of your day/night <33
The purpose of this story is just one bundle of fluff. There, of course, are mentions of real world issues and there will be a small amount of drama ( but would it really be life if there wasn't ). However, a majority of the story will be sweet. It's a love story, no crazy ex's or disapproving parents, I want it to be wholesome because let's be honest, life isn't and while fiction writing can resemble real life, it also allows us to escape!
I have one more request of all of you and it may apply to you in different ways or not at all. I recognize my privilege and blind spots: I'm white, female, Jewish and queer and I have characters of different races, religions, genders and sexualities in here in an effort to make it realistic.
If I make a mistake or if something isn't accurate ( description, culture, etc ) please call me out on it and if you can, tell me how to fix it. The last thing I want someone to do is come in here wanting a cute romance and like halfway through seeing something that isn't right and being taken out of the story.
While Lily and James's friends are not main characters, I want to represent each member of the friend groups, so I'm planning on weaving some bits from their perspectives here and there, I don't want them to become the token Black friend or the gay best friend. I want them to have substance.
I sometimes find here that social issues are mentioned once and then put to rest, or worse, just brushed under the rug and we have readers of all ages on here, especially in Harry Potter and it's never too early to start to talk about social issues.
