Chapter 1

" where are we going Aubrey?" I said confusedly. But my best friend Aubrey just looked at me with a small grin and said " for the last time I'm not going to tell you. Just have on a cute pair of sorts, a T-shirt, vans, and a jacket on by the time I get back from the convenience store across the street for some gum, getting gas then I might run home so I can get some pajamas and my tooth brush. I'll only be out for like 45 minutes so you better hurry." I groaned because She wouldn't tell me the surprise. I have always hated surprises and she knew that. Aubrey was staying at my place for a couple of nights because she and her family got into a fight. I hugged her goodbye in front of my condo door. After she left I ran upstairs into my room, and opened my dresser. I ended up wearing my favorite Jack Daniels T-shirt, red shorts, my black vans, and a grey zip up hoodie. I brushed my teeth then straightened my long blonde hair and quickly put on a little makeup because Aubrey had just texted me that she was in front of my condo. I got into her black jeep. After I was in i looked at her in suspense. Hoping she would at least give me a clue on where we were going. "Nice try Hannah I'm not telling you." Aubrey laughed. I pretend to pout a little.

We pulled into an almost empty parking lot at the beach. I decided to leave my jacket in the car because it wasn't that cold outside. It was about 6:30 when we got out of the car and I could hear laughing. And I saw maybe 13 or 14 people our age sitting on logs on the sand around a bonfire. "CALUM" Aubrey yelled putting her keys in her purse. Calum turned around and smiled then jogged to Aubrey. "Hey babe" Calum said still smiling. Gave Aubs a big hug and a cute kiss. Calum and Aubrey have been dating for like a year and a half. "hi Hannah" Calum hugged me " hey Calum" I said. I walked behind them thinking about the fact the the tree of us had know each other for so long. I actually introduced Aubrey and Calum two years ago when I was home from boarding school on winter break. "Hey guys this is my best friend Hannah" Aubrey said. I waved to everyone's smiling faces. Aubrey sat next to Calum and there wasn't any room for me. " Cal, babe I'm gonna sit with Hannah next to Luke ok? Aubrey said to Calum " no no Aubrey it's fine no worries. I'll be good." I said. Standing next to the log that she was sitting on, while trying to figure out who Luke was. " yeah Aubs I don't bite." A smiling cute tall guy with blonde hair and blue eyes said. He was sitting on the other side of the bonfire I assumed that his name was Luke.
