A handful of us students are watching a television news report about the mysterious man that fought the water monster.
"It's aliens. It has to be." Ned announces to us.
"Buzzfeed says there's a sailor named Morris Bench who was exposed to an experimental underwater generator and got hydro powers." Flash reads off of his phone.
"Yeah, you should definitely believe everything you read on the internet." MJ tells him, rolling her eyes.
"Spider-Man and Miss America could take him." Flash glares at the screen.
"What do you think it is?" Mr. Harrington asks Mr. Dell.
"You Know, being a man of science.... witches."
I turn around and notice Peter is on the phone away from the cluster of students.
"No, no, no, no. We wanna stay. We wanna stay."
"It's a good thing I packed your suit, huh. I can't believe you forgot it." Aunt May tells him over the phone back at her office in New York.
"Yeah." Peter smiles awkwardly.
"So, who was that guy you guys were with? Was that Mister Strange?"
"Doctor Strange, May. Doctor Strange. And, ummm... No. I don't know who that was. He was a new guy. We were trying to help him, but..." Peter is cut off by May on the other end of the phone.
"Hey, Happy. No. That's my lunch. Don't eat that one."
"Happy's there?" He questions.
"Yeah. It's Happy. He's here. He came by to volunteer. And, he's hanging around the office. And he wants to say hi."
"No, I don't..." May forces the phone into his hand. "Hi, Peter."
"Hey, Happy..."
"I'm sorry. I'm working real hard here. I gotta do a leaflet drop."
"What're you doing..."
"I'm glad you and Em are having a good time. Don't worry. I'm really taking care of your aunt." Aunt May retracts the phone from Happy's ear and focuses back on Peter.
"So, uhh, how's the plan going?"
"There's..." he glances over at me as Brad is showing me the pictures he took of MJ and I on his camera. I smile at him just to be nice. "...some setbacks, for sure."
"Don't over think it, just trust your instincts and you'll be fine."
"I know. Love you. Bye." He hangs up.
"Who is that guy?" Betty asks, referring to the image of the green mist hero on the television.
"He's like Iron Man and Thor rolled into one." Brad says. I have to disagree with him there.
Flash scoffs. "He's all right. He's no Spider-Man or Miss America."
"What is it with you and Spider-Man and Miss America?" MJ asks him, confused as to why he keeps bringing them up. I'm honestly a little curious too.
"What? They're just awesome, okay? They protect the neighbourhood, and you know, they're both inspiring. They inspire me to be a better man." At this point, Peter reenters the cluster of students." Flash turns to him. "Sup dickwad? I thought you drowned." I scoff at him and he turns to me. "What are you looking at, midget?"
"She's literally only one inch shorter than you." MJ tells him.
"It's still shorter." Flash winks at me and I roll my eyes.
