Alyson Benjamin point of view

'And the student of the year award goes to Alyson.'

Everyone started clapping and chanting my name. I went on to the dais to get my award. The chancellor of the university smiled at me while handing over the award.

"Alyson please say a few words" Emcee asked and I couldn't deny him.

"Well thank you all the professors who guided me" I said and everyone still kept chanting my name.

"What's your motivation?" Emcee asked again as a part of an esteemed interview with me.

I chuckled out loudly and flipped my hair back with a tinge of needed arrogance.

"Well, I am my own inspiration and I always believe that hard work can make you rise to success. So, work hard" I said waving to my friends who were clapping and chanting my name. I kissed the shield that was given to me.

"Now the chancellor will announce the 'young scientist award'," The Emcee hollered in the microphone.

Everyone is eagerly waiting to know who won the award. Everyone started praying for it but I didn't because I know I'm the receiver of that award. Hard work never fails.

"The young scientist award goes to Alyson Benjamin" Chancellor announced.

I composed myself and took lighter steps and went on to the dais and waved to my friends. Chancellor presented me the award. I'm wanted to give my acceptance speech for this award but this emcee is not asking me to give a speech. I'm glaring at him but he's not looking at me.

I want him to ask me again to say a few words. I'm staring at him but he's not looking at me at all whatsoever.

Hey..,Hey you.. .Hey you emcee, look at me; ask me something. I want to stand on dias for some more time.

Why isn't he looking at the me? Where is he looking at?

Hello! Hellllllloooooo! Look at me man!

I've prepared ten different speeches for ten different awards. I've prepared a lot for this awards ceremony. Should I act shamelessly and start giving a speech or should I feign some shame for the sake of others?

I just grabbed the mic and started nonetheless, "I want to give some tips to my juniors who want to achieve so much in their lives like me."

I exhaled in a very lofty manner, smiling and said "Well, you guys might wonder how am I getting most of the awards. You also can achieve it through hard work, determination and focus. Take me as your role model. Take a picture of mine and paste it on your study table. Everytime you see it, you will feel a surge of encouragement and one day you may stand in my position."

While everyone is chanting my name I received the scholarship.

"I know... I know, you guys are proud of me and I also know that there's no one who can beat me but I want some competitors. It's very boring without competition. I know I'll be the ultimate winner but at least try. Going on to the dias and taking all the awards alone all the time is not challenging." I mumbled loudly with a heavy sigh.

I thanked everyone and took some pictures with my chancellor and professors in some awkward poses and about to post it in my Social media accounts -

"Alyson..Alyson Benjamin...wake up! How many times I've told you not to sleep in the lab. I've never seen you performing any experiment in the previous four labs. Why did you take this stream if you are not going to do anything here? Wake up, you fool." Professor scolded loudly.
