Suddenly our worst nightmare had became reality,
A virus, too small to be spotted with the naked eye,
had arrived to change our lives forever.Suddenly we were encouraged to stay at home,
Stay inside they said. Around us on the news,
in our neighbourhoods and under our own roof,
the collective fear had tightened its grip on each
and every one.Suddenly we were all washing our hands,
as if trying to wash all the uncertainty away,
as well as the virus itself. Scrub your hands,
scrub, scrub even more. Now we were clean,
never mind, the fear stayed on our hands.Suddenly each day ran away faster and faster,
procrastination occupied the minds in the most
productive among us. Staying in touch with our
friends using video calls, aching for some
company, as if it would ease the fear. Calls,
more calls they said. Never mind, the fear
remained.Suddenly a glimpse of hope appeared in it all,
the worst was over they said. Never mind, the
fear, it is hope now.
