The world Zhao Yunlan living in, is a dangerous one. And he himself is a dangerous person.

At a very young age itself, Zhao Yunlan was thrown into the mafia group. His father was also a gang member, who died in a fight for monopoly of power between the groups. At first, Zhao Yunlan had no other way than to join the same group himself. Because he was in desperate need to fill the empty stomachs in his fatherless family. His small family including his sick mother and a baby brother.

He takes lives of other's, for other's, to keep his own family safe. But as every deed has it's own effect, the retribution he received was not at all small; his family was mercilessly killed by his enemies, leaving him with nothing more to live for. He couldn't protect his own loved ones.

This is the pay that everyone has to give when you are in this world. They will steal your family. They will steal your everything. You no longer have a normal life. He got trapped in this network forever..., with no way of escape.

Zhao Yunlan had nothing to lose, or nothing to gain. He just killed and killed, waiting for one day to get killed by another one.

And there was one unforgettable event in his life, when his mind wavered for the first time in the face of danger that a man experienced after Zhao Yunlan stepped into this world.

And for the first time after being in this field for some years, Zhao Yunlan's hand shivered when he began to pull the trigger in the hide of tall bushes. Beads of sweat rolled down his forehead as he aimed the gun towards the man who was walking through the garden holding the little hands of his cheerful kid. His blood pressure rised and his veins bulged in nervousness.

The adorable boy reminded him of his own brother's younger self whom he lost to the cruel mafia. His brother didn't get to have a chance to live in this world. And today, Zhao Yunlan is going to take this boy's only world too, from him.

Zhao Yunlan hesitated for sometime. But if it's not him, then another will carry out this mission. The man won't survive anyway. The boy will get orphaned anyway. The inevitable that has to be happened, could not be avoided.

He pulled the trigger, releasing the bullets towards the man.
He saw the man falling to the ground. And he also saw the boy fainting and falling on the ground.

Zhao Yunlan took lives before. And countless ones after. But he never had this kind of feeling for anyone. The feeling that, he should payback the boy, what he took from him.

Yes... Zhao Yunlan was also paying back. By being an ever present shadow by Shen Wei's side, by never pronouncing his obvious presence. He was always by Shen Wei's side, just like a protective guardian angel.

He kept Shen Wei's life safe from his evil relatives who wanted to end him too, just like how they assigned Zhao Yunlan's gang to end his father's life. He threatened them to keep the boy alive indirectly through his boss at that time, else they would have to face the consequences. In return, he promised them that Shen Wei don't need a piece of their share for himself.

Zhao Yunlan wasn't in a position to get involved when Shen Wei was bullied in his school. That could have only endangered Shen Wei more, as his countless enemies were searching high and low for his one single weakness. He watched everything from a distance. For his relief, the boy was a fighter.

And he was always there by Shen Wei's bed side, slowly caressing his soft features and his reddish bruises, whenever he got hospitalized. By the time Shen Wei wakes up, he would have already left without leaving any sign of his presence.

The one time Shen Wei nearly killed his bully, it was only  because of Zhao Yunlan's pressure that the authorities dropped the charges and write it off as an act of defense.

But still in the end, he couldn't help the boy from breaking. He helplessly watched the boy sinking into depression, changing into something unidentified. Zhao Yunlan couldn't have involved...

Zhao Yunlan saw Shen Wei growing, most of the times from a distance and at sometimes, very close. The beautiful boy became Zhao Yunlan's secret weakness. For him, Shen Wei was in the place of  his long lost brother. The brother whom he couldn't protect. Gradually, the brotherly affection grow into something more, despite the age difference, despite the fact that he won't receive anything from the latter.

Zhao Yunlan rised to head of the group slowly. He became unstoppable. And he became powerful enough to protect his baby boy. Then only he allowed his presence to be known by Shen Wei.

And what he didn't expected was that the boy will soon find his way to him. He knew the young enchanter has only hatred for him. He exactly know with what intentions he is approaching him. But Zhao Yunlan couldn't help himself to forsake the boy again, to leave him again in his own.

Shen Wei was already walking a dangerous path. The amount of lecherous eyes on him were already sickening Zhao Yunlan. Shen Wei was like a lost puppy strayed without its owner. A wounded soul. Zhao Yunlan could feel the depth of loneliness and depression lying on those captivating eyes. The sadness shadowing in his figure. The same emotions he had gone through.

Zhao Yunlan decided his baby kitten suffered enough.

Zhao Yunlan didn't resist Shen Wei again. He received him. And he took what his boy gave him willingly. He claimed his boy for himself.

Shen Wei wanted payback. From the one who was already paying back, without his own knowledge.

As the sleepiness dissolved, Shen Wei wake up from the lap of his favourite person, who was slowly caressing his head.
