*cough* I wrote this a while ago, could be a bit *cough* cringe
Welcome to my very own graphic portfolio: ANIMUS | Julie's Graphics!
Most of you should not know me. So, the first question:
I am a student from Europe who loves to write, game, edit videos, and, of course, create graphics. Sometimes, I draw, too, but let's say...as a left-handed person, I have two right hands.
I've been into (especially) covermaking for round about four years now. It all started with simple covers for my stories with the old Wattpad-covers app (does anyone remember it?) and went on and on from there. Today, I am still working on a mobile device for multiple reasons, especially because it's just so much easier for me and I don't need an extra graphic-tablet. But don't worry, I edit my videos on my PC, although I never upload them on YouTube because of copyright reasons and stuff. Nevertheless: if I fix that problem one day, I'd love to share some of them with you. I don't say they're good tho.
Do you know the psychology-theory by Karl Jung? He said that every individual hass to go through three phases of their personality until they can find their ego, their true self. First, there is the Persona. It is the mask you are wearing in public, maybe even at home. The thing you pretend to be. After putting your Persona down, you will have to face your shadow - it's pretty obvious what that means, right?
After you have finally accepted your shadow, you come to the last phase before your ego: your Animus. Jung says that your Animus is your other gender inside yourself, or your soulmate/partner. For me, personally, it's even more than that. Animus is Latin and means something like heart/soul. I think, your Animus is not just your romantic love, but your passion; your dreams. And this is why 'Animus' is the title of this book: because it's what I love to do. Surely, it's not the only thing I'm burning for; but being creative, in any way, is my passion - my Animus.
There is also a little quote at the top of the cover. "Ab imo pectore." I first heard these words in the music video of Oh My God by Gidle and had it in my head all the time. When I researched it, I discovered that it meant "with all my heart". Do I have to say anything else?
See ya!
