"Let's end it here. We....aren't meant for each other."
"What..?"
"We just....fell....apart."
"..."
"I'm sorry.."
Chan thinks about it again and throws his pencil making Changbin flinch.
"Are..you okay?" Changbin looks at Chan.
"....ye-yeah...just need to breathe." Chan sighs.
Changbin looks at him. He knew Chan was going to talk about it in 3....2....1.
"I just don't feel anything anymore. I just feel like my life just ended.." Chan says.
Changbin puts his pencil down and looks at Chan.
"Well....was it worth it?" Changbin asks.
"What?"
"Breaking up with her...was it worth it?" Changbin asks again.
"At that moment I felt like it was but now I...I just....." Chan answers.
"Well...figure things out before you start writing lyrics again." Changbin says and takes his pencil.
"What?"
"Go figure out your feelings before writing lyrics. I don't want you to have a cloudy mind." Changbin repeats himself.
Chan sighs and slowly gets up and takes his stuff, "Don't come home too late."
Changbin hums as Chan pats his shoulder and walks out.
Chan sighs and thinks about what to do. He takes out his phone and calls someone.
"Hey...can we meet up?"
----
"So...??" Ying looks at him.
"I'm confused." Chan says, "I can't possibly think what to do."
"Well..if she is always in your mind, why don't you call her? Give her a call." Ying suggests.
"What? No..why would I?"
"What? It's just a call. I get that you two broke up, but you guys need to at least clear the air." Ying says.
"But...wouldn't it be hard?"
"Yeah but..you've called her many times before without problem. Even when you two fought." Ying drinks her coffee.
Chan thinks about it.
"Okay...I'll call her." Chan says.
"Tonight."
"Tonight?"
"Yes. Of course. When else are you gonna do it Chan?" Ying looks at Chan.
"....true." Chan slowly nods and then looks at Ying, "We..are still on good terms right?"
"Chan, if we weren't on good terms, I wouldn't have come out of my way to talk to you about your ex." Ying chuckles softly, "Chan, we will always be on good terms. No matter what obstacles happen."
Chan smiles softly, "Yeah..."
"Now I got a Han Jisung who wants cheesecake, Flora who wants another hoodie and her daily boba, the rest who wants food, and a cold Jeno waiting for me outside." Ying gets up.
Chan gets up, "Be safe, Ying."
They two hug each other and Ying releases and looks at him.
"Call her."
-----
Chan sits on his bed. He takes a breath and calls her on facetime.
"Hello?"
"Hey...Christine...nice to see you." Chan says.
"Oh..hey. How you doing?" Christine asks.
"Good.....good..." Chan nods slowly, "How about you?"
"Uhm..doing pretty well." Christine clears her throat.
Chan smiles softly, looking at Christine who was in a turtle-neck sweater with the sweater covering the palm of her hands.
"Is everything okay?" Christine asks.
"Uhm...no...not really." Chan shakes her head.
"What happened?" Christine looks at Chan.
"I um...I....called you because..because I wanted to talk." Chan says.
"Okay.."
"About us." Chan looks at Christine.
"What about us?" Christine gulps silently.
"Christine..I know that I...I wasn't the best boyfriend...I broke your heart to pieces and I would never take the effort to patch it all up together. I was dumb and stupid and I noticed that...all I ever did was hurt you. I just kept hurting you. You gave me a soul. A reason to live, and now that you're gone I...I feel like I'm..I'm dead. I'm blank......and I want to know..why did you stay with me through such...times?" Chan says.
Christine kept silent for a bit.
Silence filled the room. Chan was almost in tears. He just wanted to say "Come back to me."
He knew it was probably too late for that.
"Because I love you." Christine responds.
Chan looks up.
"I...saw you hurting everyday, and I knew you weren't happy, but I love you. And...I wasn't ready. I wasn't ready to let you go yet." Christine clears her throat, "I thought "just a little more time" everyday. I....I really didn't want to let you go because I just...I just didn't want to take that step."
Chan slowly nods.
Yet again, silence filled the room once more. It was for a long time.
Then Chan just blurts out.
"I miss you."
