Heading into the village, I begin to think of what I would wear to the ball. 'What would my mother want me to wear.' I look back at Fae and can't help but feel self-conscious about myself. She's really beautiful and elegant and I'm just plain, but it's not like I want the prince's attention either way. I really hope the best for my sister. I just wanna dance like I used to with my father.
We stopped at the first stop which was dress shopping. We first began with mother which was easy as she always gets a purple dress but the real problem was with Fae. She wanted to be outstanding which cost a lot of money for us but she insisted. "I want the dress to complete my eyes! I want to be the only woman the prince sees!" She strictly says to the women which nods with a little fear.
I'm the end she came out with a green and black dress that matched her perfectly and really complimented her eyes. I was jealous of how pretty she looked, almost like a goddess. I was quickly snapped back to reality at my mother's words. "Alright shall we go get shoes." Hearing her say that made my heart drop. 'No..'
I managed to get in front of my mother and blocked both their paths. I look down at the floor and say quietly "I thought I was going as well." Our mother stares at me, then smiles at me sweetly. "Oh dear, then who would watch the house?" She roughly pushes me aside and Fae laughs at my pitiful self. "I can't believe you thought you were going with us. They said fair maiden not trash."
They walk past me and exit the store. The store clerk looks at me and gives me a smile. "I really shouldn't do this because I'm already full with orders but when you do come back to town I'll make you a dress. Free of charge!" She says grabbing my hand. I look at the middle aged woman and smile at her.
"Thank you but I'll have to refuse. My father taught me to never take from people if I couldn't give anything in return." She smiles at me and chuckles. "Your father sounds like a great man. But I think a true smile from you would be a good enough reward." She grabs my cheek and makes me look up at her.
"Y/n HURRY UP! WE DON'T HAVE ALL DAY! BEING IN THIS DISGUSTING TOWN MAKES ME SICK ENOUGH AS IT IS ALREADY." My sister roughly opens the store door and looks at me with anger. "Thank you for your time!" I bow waving a goodbye at the nice lady. She frowns as I leave the store and sighs. "She was always a bright happy girl."
After I carried all their clothing inside by myself. I ran to Lucas to give him the outfit his mother picked out. "Master! Here's your new suit!" He frowns looking at the bag. "I told that whore I didn't wanna go." I frown at him knowing he gets a chance that I would never get. "I think you should go! You might find a lovely good looking woman to your liking. Besides, won't it be fun dancing with everyone, you're a growing man after all!" I say showing him my guns which makes him look away from me.
"Idiot. If you think I should go as well. I'll go!" He shouted, grabbing the bag from me. I smile at him and cheer to myself. "I hope you have a lot of fun! Make sure to tell me about it okay!" I turn around making my way to my room for the night leaving the boy stun. "That idiot is not going...."
Just a week away from the ball and I'm in the market again shopping for groceries. "Y/n!" I turn my head to see my favorite person in the market. "Henry! How are you!" I smile running up to him. He quickly grabs me and spins me in the air which makes me squeal. "For you!" He says as he hands a green apple today. "You shouldn't have." I chuckle as I take a small bite. Henry stares at my lips which makes his face heat up. "So who was that boy last week...." I looked at him confused until Lucas' face popped in my head.
"Oh him..." I say sticking my tongue out which makes him smile at me. "He's my brother I tell you so much about." I say in a bored tone. "I thought he wasn't allowed in the market." I frown and remember the event that took place. "He's not supposed to be, but I don't think babysitting is a part of my job.... All the time at least." Looking at Henry I can feel like he's relieved about something but I shrug it off.
"So my fair maiden, will you be attending the grand ball?" I frown at him and shake my head. "I'm not allowed to." He scoffs at me and ruffles my hair which makes my face heat up. "I swear Y/n! You're about to be a grown woman so take a chance for once! Quit being that nice cute girl and sneak out! I know you wanna go." He says angrily as he flicks my head. I look up at him and a smile grows on my face.
"I'm cute~" I coo at the boy which makes him blush. "Shut up and just do it" He quickly shoves the apple in my mouth to make me stop talking. Pushing the apple out of my mouth, I quickly jump on the brown haired boy hugging him tightly. "Your right! I should go! I deserve to! My mother wouldn't want me to stay home either." I quickly kiss his cheek and run off towards my home. Leaving the boy holding his cheek.
"Just this once...
I wanna do something for me."
