Hi guys I need to talk to you guys about something very important right now because in the photo above is talking about Reyna who was recently confirmed by Rick to be asexual
What I want you to look at is the terminology used : Saying he should not be describing the sex life of the character is wrong on so many levels as is using the word weird. And I don't know if these people understand why it's so long to call it weird and if you don't I'm going to explain
A common thing told to people who are ace is you're just broken or you're just weird they are not broken they are not weird they are perfectly normal human being is because being asexual is completely normal
Invalidating a sexuality like this is not okay and I'm going to have to say you are a terrible person if you do this. You say you accept their identity but I'm pretty sure that just means 'oh I guess I get it but I'm just going to ignore because I think it's weird and I don't think it makes sense in the series'
And even more so saying I don't know but he did what he did and we can't change that it makes it seem like he did something wrong, when in reality Rick Riordan did jack shit wrong he threw tins of representation in that making one of his main character- kind of, I'm not sure-asexual
This is it just being unsure if that's appropriate this is homophobia nothing more nothing less this is erasure of an inch higher identity and community that is fine tooth and nail to be accepted.I'm not sure how many people know but people try to say oh you're not part of the LGBTQ+ community or when they say LGBTIA and they say the A stands for ally, no no no no no it stands for aces and aros
The rewritten version of out in the open will be out by Wednesday. See you then
